I wouldn't tint the headlights, the more you can see the safer you are.
Do the S55 paint mod to the taillights.
I've always gone with and had good luck with Escort Radar Detectors, you get your monies worth. 8500 x50 (previous model) still works great and they have a new 9500 series model if you got the dough.
I posted a thread on installing HIDs into our cars, just search for it.
I prefer www.bobwhitedecals.com for the bumper inserts, their not costly and have a wide range of colors, reflective and non-reflective colors. There is also SSinserts which cost more and just shine but that's about it lol.

make sure you check to see if Radar detecters are legal in your state, maybe invest in a beltronics STI Driver, it's undetectable to radar detector detecters. thats what I run and love it.

Honestly there is no real reason to tint the front lights they already have a black housing and could possibly get you into some trouble. If anything buy another set and smoke those and keep them for car shows and daily weekend cruising.

The higher the "k" the lower the light output + the blue ones look gay.....
If you want to see further down the road go with nothing higher than 6k.

Ever think of going "Black Chrome" SS inserts has their own version of that look and you could have the treatment done on your rims and all the trim. I have the 6000K headlights and fogs and I agree no need to tint the headlights as they look dark already...really!
My S55 treatment to rear tailinghts with a little tinting was done for me at Team Ford Body shop in Marietta, GA. They were fast and pretty cheap. PM me for costs and more info.
I would love to have that Escort $1500 shifter system, but I just dont drive bad enough to warrant $1500 for ticket protection. Id rather just pay a lawyer $250 per ticket to dump the thing. I've only had a couple the last 7-8 years(knock on wood) so it just doesnt add up to all that. I have a $450 Valentine One and I can say that I have NEVER(in the 12 years I have owned it) EVER gotten pulled over with my V1 on my dash running. The times I got pulled over were the few times I drove a little fast(10-15 over) without it! So $1500 wow...but to each his own.

No need to, the 35watt ones work fine +plus they generate less heat.

Yeah but the 55w generates 40% more light

And you might melt the lenses....... remember they will also generate much more heat.
Why don't you give it a try?

You really think it could melt the lenses? I believe it might for the fogs, but geez. Im more wondering if anyone has ran them?

Sure you can run 55 watt but it's over kill for the halogen light housing and will blind the shyt out of people. The more color wash the less the light output. Factory vehicles with HIDs are usually 4300k or 5000k. 6000k is happy median with a fair amount of blue hue but yet also puts out a good amount of light.

Jumping to a higher watt also washes some of the color out.
No need to, the 35watt ones work fine +plus they generate less heat.Correct, HID projectors are made just for HID bulbs and their heat range, it may or may not factor in anything with a big halogen lens but it COULD leave a reflect angle burn on the housing. I've had it happen to me in a previous vehicle using 55 watt hids, that's why I will never go back to them.
Yeah but the 55w generates 40% more lightSure that's more light for you to see but that's also 40% more unfocused and uncontrolled light that will be blinding everyone in front of you and of on-coming traffic.
And you might melt the lenses....... remember they will also generate much more heat.
Why don't you give it a try?
They won't melt the lens but leave in burns on the halogen reflector backing.
You really think it could melt the lenses? I believe it might for the fogs, but geez. Im more wondering if anyone has ran them? The 55 watt bulbs are 1 inch longer than the 35 watt bulbs, I believe they will not fit in the fogs anyways. There is just enough room for the 35 watt bulb length in our headlight as it is.
