If the next Marauderville was to be held on the east coast the same time as The Woodward Dream Cruise, what event would you attend?

Also depends on WHERE marauderville will be held this year.
May all come down to which one is closer.
Michigan is about a 7hr. drive for me.

Marauderville is supported and put together by the car club that I support and am proud to be a member of. My answer is a no-brainer.

No support for me as it is in the middle of August. I vote for Sept. Why would you want to conflict with the WDC as a way to split the membership up. The Dream Cruise is a fun event and deserves to stay that way! Let each event and club have its own time and place.

Not trying to split the membership up.

August just works better for an awesome activity, which for some might be a once in a lifetime thing.

I did the August 2005 Woodward Dream Cruise (WDC) / Marauderville III in Detroit and had a blast. The MCM gang did a great job of organizing the event and my son and I enjoyed the events at the prime Burger King location on Woodward. The turnout was awesome and drew nearly 100 MMs from across the country. Side events included a welcome dinner at Caper's Restaurant, a visit/tour of Trilogy Motorsports, tour of the Ford Rouge Plant (F150s), Henry Ford Museum, Drag Racing at Milan, and the Farewell Breakfast/Awards banquet, several memorable convoys, and 4.5 days of sheer fun.

WDC/MV III was a fantastic event and an opportunity to meet lots of members from all over the country.

That said, I'd be interested in doing something different for Marauderville 8 or 9 as long as the location was within about an 800-1,000 mile radius and the activities were well planned and diverse enough to offer something for everyone including the wives, girlfriends or significant others.

The WDC is about all types and genres of cars and has traditionally been held in August.

The Motor City Marauders car club in response to their hosting MVIII, planned their effort around the WDC. A favorable confluence of time/place/activity.

After MVIV and the great schism, the officials of the MCM club and the MM.net "club" informally(?) agreed to let the name and activity called Marauderville be the domain of the .net club. The WDC and the annual MCM club activity associated with it would be the domain of MCM.

So........tradition has been established for four years. MCM = Marauders@ WDC, MM.Net= Marauderville.

Now, all Marauders drivers are welcomed to attend either or both events. I missed MVIII due to a family emergency at the last minute. MCM refunded my fee without question or hesitation.

I will see a Marauder/WDC before I depart for that big garage in the sky, and when I do I'll join with the MCM for the activity.

It's like the North Texas Marauders holding it's annual Centervill GTG. A time and place for Marauder drivers interested to participate in a Marauder related activity.

Does this sound about right?

Regards,

That would be wrong and should not happen.

Why schedule the two events at the same time and force a choice? Are there alternate dates that would avoid a conflict?

Vortex

Why the heck would Marauderville need to be scheduled the same weekend as Woodward anyway? Marauderville can be any weekend and this would be a non-issue.

That is my point! They are both good events and should not be held on the same date. Move to Sept. so both events can have good attendance!

Fastblackmerc, welcome to the world of "everything thinks your tread is pointless".

My vote would be for MV. The Dream Cruise was fun up until the last years. I enjoyed seeing all of the Motor City Marauders though... that was about it.
