Both of my rear vlances are covered with tire debris from the run @ the track when I power braked to 2,000 RPM.

How do I safely remove it?

It's only been 27 years since I last had this problem.

WD-40

WD-40 works great but leaves a residue that Bug &tar remover doesn't. MHO

If you wax your car, it should come off fairly easy with a wash. Check under the car though where the actual lower body is visable (around in the tip area). I'll bet you've got some rubber spray under there too, I have before...

I had this discussion with a couple people and they suggested PRE-treating your car before you run. Of course a good amount of wax in that area....but the main suggestion I remember was spraying PAM on the back rear quarterpanels wear the stuff would kick up. But you must let it dry first. Supposedly after the run you can pratically spray it off with a hose.

I asked about PAM removal and he said it is edible and won't leave stains.......made sense to me....

This guy runs the track at least Bi-Weekly and he has a off yellow car and shows no signs of rubber debris on his car.....

Who knew.... :D

If you keep it waxed good (in my case, I load the rear valance up with spray-on quick wax immediately before the burnouts) the rubber should just fall right off. If it does stick, a quick "spray & wipe" method removes all debris nicely.

Get this guy's product and put it on BEFORE your race. He's called "Mr. Comp" saw him race and win the prostreet finals here in Memphis in September '03. Really nice guy too.

I have also seen guys lay the blue masking tape (made for painting) over the wheel wells and fenders and that looks like it works pretty good also.

Personally, when I was in Marauderville I encountered this problem and I found the easiest solution was lust to have LML (also know as my "Pit Biatch") clean my car at 3:00 a.m. And you all thought he was useless!

it came off w/a simple washing just like LML stated.

Have you tried Turtle Wax Bug and Tar Remover?

I don't know what's gone on in this thread already, but I see that TAF and MartyO have been involved in all that stuff too. I don't feel a need to track that into my home...

I only want to add that anyone heading to the race track, or, driving out OTR and worried about starting a bug farm, need do only one thing.

Stop at your local Walgreens/Walmart (what ever) and buy yourself a few small, or, one large can of Breck hair spray.

Breck seems to work the best, it seals off the untidy and washes off with cold water.

Yup...Hair spray...Go figure?

I agree with RC, PAM is a commonly used... Use it myself when I run...
