While Linda was on the way home something broke inside the steering column. The turn signal control works fine for left turns, but will not go up for right turns. You can forcefully hold it up and the right signal will work, but it feels like something is blocking the control from moving up. Any suggestions?

There is a return ring on the steering shaft that will kick the signals off when the wheel rotates the opposite way, it sounds like the plastic broke off of it and is lodged in the way of the signal lever tab which engages it. While you are in there for the repair, its good to replace the clockspring for the airbag which is another problem waiting to happen, so change everything that could be trouble on the way out of the repair..

Chances are, 4 and 1 are your problem 1 in the first pic, 4 in the second.. There are a few members here with spare multifunction levers laying around, the lever is about 95 bucks, the ring is 5 bucks.. Follow all precautions related to the airbag..!!!
