I read this goes down usually the last Saturday of the month at Classic BMW in Plano (corner of Dallas Tollway and Spring Creek Pkwy) but was rescheduled to this coming weekend because of rain last weekend. Forecast is supposedly good for Saturday and the event goes from 0800-1200 only. If its not raining that morning I might go check it out. From what I understand its not a show, just a (free) gathering of cool cars and their drivers (w/free coffee provided).

Well, I got up at O-dark-thirty this morning because my brother in law said if you get there after 0900 you wont find a place to park. Got up, fed the dog, took the dog out, showered and went out and cranked the MM. Wrong. Cliick click click..... Dead battery. Shouldnt complain, its a 6 year old battery in a car with 15k miles and its been a cold winter. Jumper cables wouldnt reach the GM so had to dig out my little trickle charger and after about 10 minutes I was able to start the car. Immediately went to Town East Ford in Mesquite and was in and out of there in 30 minutes with a new battery (expensive damn thing and no little window indicator but more CCA's.) Anyway, still made it to the show before 0900 and did find a place to park. It was cold but Ill tell you what some great looking machinery there. Lots of high dollar Ferarris, Lambos, vettes, several Ford GTs, and I kid you not at least 15 AC Cobras. Probably wouldnt work as a NTXMM venue because you cant save parking spaces but I recommend anybody in the area to check this show out. Its usually the last Saturday of the month (it was today as a rescheduled rain date).

Yeah, OK. No go on the dedicated parking. They did say they open the gates at 7 AM and some of the clubs come in as a group so they end up parking together.

As an aside they will be changing to the first Saturday of the month in March.
This means back to back shows for the next two weeks.

Weather looks iffy this Saturday but does any one want to shoot for March 6th?

Gary somethings come up this weekend and I have to pass. For anybody in the area though, you should check out this car show, its different from most of the others (ie no registration, its free, no voting, leave when you get damn good and ready ect...)

Its a great show, I like that there is no entry fees, judging or any of that stuff. Lots of free hot coffee too. That is a heck of a Beemer dealership as well.

Well, I screwed the pooch. Went to get the MM out of winter quarters
tonight and the battery was dead as a brick. Wouldn't even deflect
the volt meeter.

Sorry but I won't be there either.:mad2:

Welcome aboard Walter. I suggest you E-mail Pat http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/member.php?u=2507
and ask him to put you on our informal roster of MM folks.
That way you'll always get the up to date skinny on what's
going on in our area.

My battery was dead when I was headed to that show in Febuary! I put a quick charge on it and went to the Ford dealer for a new one and they were actually pretty quick.

I replaced mine last year just because my old one was 6 years old.
I had stored the car for winter and I had planned to get it out last
week and make sure the kinks were all out. Now I need to take the
battery out, bring it home and see if it will charge up.
