for what it's worth...i did a writeup on CVN based on my experience with car audio
i would caution buying infinities because they are really bright and carry a lot of highs. i would highly recommend going to the store and actually listening to the speakers instead of going on recommendations alone.

If you do go with the Infinitys get the 60 W speaker's (6x8-5x7) if you have the factory radio.

My intial step in replacing my stock system was speakers. Magindat installed Pioneer TS-D802P in the 4 cabin holes. Perfect fit, plug and play and the performance outstanding with just the stock set up pushing them. I was amazed. I would recommend them to anyone who is upgrading. Check them out and shop them on line. www.thefind.com (http://www.thefind.com) is a great place to shop. Quick check just now and they list retailers for them at from $79.00 a pair to $150.00. I have gone way beyond with Rich's help but the speakers are tremendous still. Can't go wrong and an easy upgrade. Dennis:2thumbs:

I upgrade just my front speakers with 5.25" component speakers and sounds a whole lot better, also replaced the factory sub with a cheap 12" low RMS powered sub in a Wal-Mart pre-fabbed build it yourself box.

Keep in mind people, im deployed...im going to have my Pops get the work done for me, ill wire him the cash. In addition, all i want is to keep the car stock, not all the way around, but for stereo purposes i dont need a big system. Its not going to be an everyday driver anyway,...good sounding speakers, all i need are the dimensions and i can order them online. I see some wrote them down so just really replacing the stock speakers with nicer (current tech) speakers is all i need. i looked around and mabey im just stupid but what are the specs? Thanks for all the replys anyway, i also looked in the stereo forum part thingy, and didnt really give all the dimensions. Thank you in advance! Sorry i have sounded so helpless but not being home and havng limited resourses, kinda pisses me off, but when i get home and really get to enjoy my car, ITS ON:D

Pops has great prices on the Pioneers, although I have had many sets of Infinity's in my cars I went with his advice and have no regrets.
The Infinity's really only shine with a LOT of power behind them or they can be tinny.
I have them in my Mark 8 with 1000 watts pushing them and they are totally different than when I was pushing them with a 22X4 head unit.
I am running the Pioneers from Pops through a Kenwood (sorry John) head unit with no additional power and they are clean and rich sounding. Plenty of bottom end. The Pioneers hang in there well after the stock subs goes away.
Maybe by the end of summer we'll see how they handle a power adder.
I think you will find Pops Stereo prices even with anyone else's and you know where to find him....

In my MGM I use Kenwood 6x8 F & 6x9 R and like the sound. In the MM I use Kenwood 6x8 all around and am not pleased at all. They do sound better than the factory speakers but I would not recommend them. All 8 speakers were in the $70-90 range.
