I've been going to my dealer service center with my Marauder for almost 8 years now. The service guy has been there longer than that.
After thier done changing my oil he comes up to me to say , I may need tires soon? And that he can get me a rebate on Michelin Tires just like the ones my car came with! I told him my car didn't come with Michelin tires and he says the paper work says its a Grand Marquis. This the same guy that checked my odometer (where it says MARAUDER ) and my vin number and my plates that say "MARADER" and he says "OH"
I then tell him it came with Bridgestone G force Tires and he then starts clicking away.....It say's Grand Marquis here?

the dealers here call them Grand Marquis' as well. I assume it's because it is discontinued...when i went to buy my F 150 the dealer told me that i must be driveing an AMerican car...no **** i said, "does it look like a **** honda?" He said that car was never sold in Canada...he was a useless tit.
My dealer knows for sure what my marauder is! :D :burnout:

When a dealer enters your VIN into their computer to do any work, the 2003's all come back as a Grand Marquis. The Marauder didn't get a unique VIN code that decodes as a "Marauder" until 2004.. I'm 99% sure..
I've been down that road with my 300A too...
But my local dealer knows what I have ;)

The Marauder was fitted with the 4R70W 4-speed automatic in 2003 and received the upgraded 4R75W 4-speed automatic for 2004.

Looks like your dealer cant even tell the difference between a FORD and a GM vehicle. :stupid:
I wouldn't take my car back there! :shake:

Oooooh, you hit a hot button there! :mad2:
I bought my first Marauder (DTR) from Heritage LM in Greenville, and had all my service work done on the car up until the time it got totaled. THOSE folks had their $**t together. Top notch service dept. Only guy I've found better was frdwrnch when he was up in Charlotte, he IMO, is THE MAN when it comes to FLM products.
Anyway, I replaced the DTR with my Blue, but shortly after I bought it, Heritage went out of business and sold their franchise to Dick Smith Motors, who, among other things, sells Hyundais and Mitsubishis. As the car had the balance of factory warranty on it, I took it in to DS for a couple of small warranty items, got the "it's a Grand Marquis" :bs: from them, and the last straw came when I tried ordering some DBP touchup paint from their service dept. The clown behind the counter told me I was wrong, Marauders were only made in black, the asshat wouldn't even look in his computer. I did a slow burn for a couple seconds, then told him that he was mistaken, asked him to step outside at which time I pointed to my car and assured him that Marauders were, in fact, produced in colors other than black. He then proceeds to go back inside, punches some numbers into his keyboard, and then informs me that, "well, it looks like they were also produced in Silver Birch, and Dark [sic] 'Tornado' Red" colors.
I nodded, walked out and drove over to the local Ford dealer and haven't been back to the other guys since. :shake:

The staff of Timberland Ford have been looking after my Marauder since new. I had them do some custom work..I have 1 dedicated tech that works on my vehicle... never had a comeback in 7 years. My wife bought a Sportrac Adrenalin from them ...they treat us like family. I know dealerships vary in quality.... we sure are lucky here.

When I took my first Marauder in for it's 6k service back in the day, the service manager tried to sell me a tire rotation. I remember laughing because I thought he was kidding. He wasn't.

Negative. We get two gears for a WOT downshift, 04's didn't from the factory, they only downshifted one gear.
The reason for this is too many people kept blowing up their transmissions. I never did and never took it easy.
Mine was made in 2002 so it must be better than a 2003 or 2004!
