View Full Version : Search Function Use

Many of us, including me, are advised to use the search function when asking questions about our cars.

Many times the reply is, "I tried but couldn't get any results".

It seems the search function can use key words in the title to find the desired post.
This will save a lot of unrelated posts from being displayed because the key word was used somewhere in the post.

A title only search will be more useful if the key word is used.

So, when you post something about maintenance, parts or technical spec, etc please use the affected part name in the post title.

Example; "my ETAC is broken", as opposed to "no heat"

or "my engine misfires" as opposed to my "car is sick".

Carry on, (as Mac used to say)

Very good point to make, Pat. Often I go in and edit the thread title to make it more specific, such as I did today. The thread said "Help" so I added "removing rear differential." You are more apt to catch the eye of someone that can help by being specific. Thanks, Pat.
