I just renewed my full coverage policy for the year with SF and I was wondering how many other MM owners who's vehicles are paid for still invest in full coverage insurance? I have always had a $250.00 deductible and I gotta say I'm thinking next time maybe getting PIP & LIA because the rate goes up every year, how bout the rest of you guy's? Are you still paying for full coverage on a vehicle that's paid off?

Yes. I work on the road, and if nothing else, I could get a beater to drive home with if I got totalled.

No, I continue to have full coverage on it. Keep the full coverage on all my vehicles with a value over say $2500.

My MM isn't paid off but I always keep full coverage and then some on any car I drive regularly unless it is a beater I got for under $1000. Our G35 is insured the exact same way as the MM and has been paid off for a little less than a year. I figure after paying on something for as long as most of us have I want to protect my investment.
If I hadn't had the additional coverage and uninsured motorist I would have been screwed when I wrecked my first MM. There are to many losers out there w/minimal to no coverage and I would rather pay a little more up front to have my a$$ covered when a bad situation arises.
Just before my accident my wife and I were talking about dropping the extra coverage. Glad we didn't and after that situation we decided we never would.

Bought my marauder cash in dec. and will always keep full coverage on it. I want to protect my investment. It just sucks because I am only 20 years old and have an accident on my record, so believe me you do not want to know what I have to pay.

Well with my current age and the fact State Farm has been getting paid for 7 years now. Considering my $250.00 deductible, comp, collision, uninsured motorist, vandalism, rental car, etc. you dont want to know my premiums young man. These funds could easily be going to my mod stash!

Full coverage only gets you bluebook value of totalled. Agreed value insurance is better for legit limited production vehicles. MOst insurance companies will sell it to you if you have an appraisal.
P.S., State Farm sucks .

Since I don't drive my 04 Marauder very often I have collector vehicle insurance on it. I just renewed it at $419 for another year and the "agreed" value is at $27,500.
My car only has about 1,200 miles on her so gotta protect my baby!

Anytime I have owned a car I care about and have money invested in I will always keep full coverage on it. Just the glass coverage alone is worth it when and if money is tight if something happens.
For those with collector cars switch to Grundy there is no milage limit and you can drive out of state for car shows some of the others don't even allow that but like the rest you have to have a normal car to drive and use of a garage for the collector car.
When I get the use of the Garage in April finaly they are going to approve me for the insurance and for only $250.00 a year to cover the daley driver with compleat no deductable insurance as well on an 2007 Ford Taurus with an agreed price of $20,000 for it. Will be saving almost $2,500.00 a year vs my Progressive coverage for both cars.

Keep me posted on your progress. I'm looking for other options, my policy has increased yearly for 7 years now (no accidents or claims) and I don't see an end in sight

Unfortunatly my other half got a speeding ticket and traffic ticket before the renual came up so they increased the premiums again. I had to lessen the bodily injury and property damage coverage to compensate for the increase on the premiums.
In total because of the agreed coverage I wanted on the Marauder and the Taurus it will be $1052.00 a year for them both with no deductables. Just have to wait till April for it to be in place. It took almost a year of wheeling and dealing with my landlord to get use of the Garage in the back of the house that is why I had to wait so long.
Right now with Progressive I am averaging about $3,300.00 a year so I would say it is a smart move to switch in my case.
I always keep full coverage on my cars especially since the DC area has such a ridiculous car theft rate I can't afford not to. Thankfully i'm in the military and have USAA. I'm currently paying $315 a month for my 04 MM, 94 Caprice, 96 Impala SS, mom's 08 Mitsubishi Lancer, and renters insurance and i'm 24. I can't wait till I hit 25 so it can go lower.

Mine is fully covered also and will remain that way through SF. My deductables used to be $0 comp, $250 collision. But looking to save anywhere possible this last year I raised them to $500/$500. It didn't really lower it all that much IIRC. I believe it was $65/ month. Now it is $50.00.

Damn! I have full coverage on my MM, Impala, my cobra and have renters insurance. I only pay $100ish a month! Is your policy where you're living now or your HOR?

City vs suburbs and state all make a difference in cost. Then you have the vehicle.
When I first insured the Marauder with Progressive they felt it was a Grand Marquies so it was cheep.
One year lator it went up majorly once that damm stolen list report came out on our cars.
The Marauder with Progressive now with full coverage and $250.00 deductable and full glass is $967.00 every 6 months.
The 2007 Taurus I never get to drive is costing me $879.00 every 6 months.
Although it dosn't help having a driver on the policy with Speeding and traffic tickets as well!
Although they did drop a bit after CT state police nailed a large chop shop ring last year.

I see, well I don't think it hurts that my pay grade is in the O's. I've heard USAA bases rates partly on whether or not you're in the O's or E's.
