I bought mine at the end of November, and it had both the grille and the truck emblems blacked out, it appears to be enamel

I have mine with the waterfall removed and Mercury inserted in the middle, then painted black. I'll try to remember to post up a pic tonight when I get home from work.

Okay, so how do you remove the waterfall ... or should I search this?

As for the satin black look, kinda nice ...and definately cheaper than the badgeless grill.

Yea, I scuffed it with green scotch-brite, primed with etching primer and then shot with Krylon Fusion spray paint in satin black. the first time I didn't prime it and after a while it started to chip off....been repainted for a few years now and no problems at all. Would love to go badgeless, but really don't want to cut up my OE grill.
