I just turned 108K. I'm wondering about the stock shocks. How long do they last? The car handles and drives perfect but I would think the shocks would be worn out by now. I had to replace one of the springs when I bought the car at 92K. I can't believe the shocks would outlast the springs. Maybe the previous owner already replaced them. I do get a little bounce in the back very occassionally when shifting at around 30 mph. I figure this is just the lousy factory shift program.
What are the specs on them? I assume thay are gas charged. What are you guys replacing them with?

OK. All I want to know is how long they last on average.

Hard to say, mine went south around 50-60k miles and I bought the car used with 40k miles on it.

I replaced the rears with OEM @ 60K, it did not make my thump sound (on rebound) go away.
Fronts still feel good @ 90K

100K on ours but I will be replacing them with new OEM in the Spring. The old ones are working but we are doing other suspension work so as the say :When in Rome"

So what is the best shock?

Hard to beat the OEM. KYB and Monroe also make shocks for our cars. NAAKE is the high performance shock, QA! I think there called. This is where the search function might help you out. It's tedious but you will find out differing opinions from a wide range of members on each. Might help you decide as this thread may not give you all the relevant info you need to make the best choice for you. Good luck

Seems like OEM is good, considering how long they last.
Thanks.

I lost a right rear shock at 30 K (started leaking oil ) replaced both rears .I have 47 K on the fronts . I think I'll go another season on them even though they are 7 years old.
