Im proud to be able to bring you this great news!
After just 2 short days, 1 phone call and a few emails, Rick from Metco Motorsports has provided a unique part # for some necessary components needed to Eaton Swap your Marauder.

The parts made available by Metco are pictured here:
http://www.metcomotorsports.com/prodimages/large/MMC0001-1.jpg

You now have an easy, one stop shop for these sometimes hard to find parts on Mustang Classified sites.
Most used Cobra Lower pulley kits cost between $275 and $350 depending on the deal you can find. (You dont even need 75% of the Cobra Lower Pulley Kit anyways!)
Average price for an upper pulley and hub is $120.
..and these prices do not include shipping!

Now you can make a few clicks or a phone call and know you are getting top quality parts, with new fasteners and NO GUESSWORK.
No more searching for the right size upper or lower!
I feel Rick priced these parts very well, and again Id like to thank him publicly for taking the time to do this for us.

Here is the direct link:
http://www.metcomotorsports.com/proddetail.asp?prod=MMC0001

You might notice that the upper pulleys offered go to a max diameter of 3.0. This is actually a good thing! No hood or hood insulator modification is needed with a 3.0. Rather than a common 4lb lower, you would just step down to a stock size or +2 depending on what boost level you want to run.

Get started guys! Remember, a homemade Eaton swap comes to an average of $2800-$3500 depending on the price of used parts you find out there. :burnout:

There is no doubt in my mind you can score some awesome deals on used stuff.
Problem is, there are no guarantees at any given moment. Sometimes weeks, if not months go by before you strike gold.

So can this whole eaton kit be bought new? I'd like to see a "turn key" kit that's brand new with directions.

Or would a Trilogy be less expensive?

I'm probably going to stay N/A as I'll be very happy with mid 13's and long tubes will get me there.

Negative, haven't even bought it yet. I've up to my ass in project alligators. I hope to sometime this year have it though. I was looking to buy the 3.4l at lethal performance. Can Tousley beat they price Lethal's advertising?

Zack
02-18-2010, 06:52 PM
Tousley cant sell a 3.4.
However, the 2.3's are 3209 shipped :D

Dont buy a 3.4 unless you have a big inch engine or plan on running 23+psi.
Just my .02

The shop that built my Cobra said they built the engine for the 3.4. Engine size is 5.0, I'll discuss it with them to see what they say.

I never ordered anything from Metco, I got all my stuff used for my car, and coincidentally it was just a tad less then what you paid for everything new.

So obviously if I had an Eaton with a quick change pulley kit on it already then I would only need the crank portion of this kit correct? Found a used Metco lower recently that I may just snatch up if it is still available.

So which pully sizes are safe with a stock motor?

FordNut
02-26-2010, 12:02 PM
I can't help you there, I believe most folks go with a +2. I'd like to find somebody who has a stock size that decided to upgrade and wants to sell the stocker for cheep...

The Whipple is running a 6.55" pulley which is approximately -3 or maybe -4.
