What is the largest CCA Motorcraft battery we can use without modification? I have heard there are 2 versions. I will be replacing my battery soon and didn't know which part number to ask for. I wanted to stay with Motorcraft. Thanks.

The Motorcraft Battery I used is a BXT65-650 which is a 100 month battery.

COOL! GOOD to know; I'm sure I'll have to be replacing my OEM Battery sooner vs. later... :bigcry: (CAN'T complain though; after nearly 7 YEARS of loyal SERVICE!)

After 6 winters, I replaced my original BXT-65-650 with a BXT-65-850 in my DTR this past December.
Physical dimensions of both are identical.
Cost at Ford dealer was $119.99 ($20 more than BXT-65-650), plus $7.50 core charge.
Hope this helps with your selection.

Don't waste your money on the BXT65-650 get the 850 as gilby stated. I bought the 850 last year - much more powerful battery.

+1 on the 850 - are those "vent free" - do the new Motorcraft 850 CCA's have removable top caps to vent hydrogen or so you can add water??

Old thread alert, but....

Just replaced my OEM battery with the Motorcraft BXT-65-850 version and I'm sure I'll get many years out of it. Quality brand, they're just being humble!
