I have 2 questions and looking to get a few opionions. First I put a new Audiophile radio in my marauder and I have the Infinity 5-7/6-8 REF6802CF speakers in her now. I was wondering if anyone is useing the Infinity KAPPA 5-7/ 6-8 , 682.9CF 2 way Load speaker's and if they like them or not & why. Second infinity makes a Infinity REF 8 inch sub. Has anyone tryed to see if will fit in our factory sub box & if so, if they like it or not & why . Thanks !

The Refrence speakers require more power than the Kappa's and as far as the sub i'm not shure about the REF8 fitting. I went with the shallow mount Pioneer 8" sub its less than 3" deep and with a little modification will fit in the stock enclosure. PM Pop's he should be able to help you more on this topic.
Zolton the 8 inch Pioneer works but you need to cut the sub enclosure a lot to make it fit.

I'm kinda looking for a clearier sound with better highs. The 6802 Infinitys has been in my marauder for a 5 years now. I know the REF6832CF are the newer up grade but i do hold a interest in the Kappa's . Looking for clearier high's and sound.

Personally I have the same Refrence set-up and I feel it's underpowered, it needs and external amp to really push them. The Kappa's should perform better with a stock H/U they require less power. Try them!

WHAT? KAPPAS require almost double the power of the reference line of infinity speakers. the KAPPA and KAPPA perfects are the infinity flagship line that are more or less "required" to be amplified in order to get the full potential out of the speakers. the reference speakers are the ones that should be used with the factory unit since they are the entry level speakers!!!!
i wouldn't recommend a single aftermarket subwoofer to be placed in a factory sub enclosure. its just not enough space for the sub to breathe.
some might dissagree with me, but i think its cutting corners with the audio.
word of caution with infinities, they are bright speakers. so if you dont like a lot of highs, i wouldnt recommend them
My setup is infinity kappa speakers all around with a kicker 5ch amplifier and 2 10" JBL subwoofers. nothing too crazy but plenty power when i want and need it!!!

i also just read a little more what you posted...the KAPPAS will definitely give you that inprovement in highs over the references. i think that based on what you are saying in this thread, the kappa will be a perfect upgrade for you, and if you give them a little more juice with a small amplifier, they will really shine and you will be very happy. there is a NOTICABLE difference between the highs in the kappas and reference line especially when the system is tuned.
