View Full Version : Removal of Trunk Badge
How do you do it without damage? It appears to be applied with some kind of adhesive.

Dental floss works well to break the adhesive-----body shop to fill the alignment hole

You can use fishing line also and yes you will have 2 holes left under badge that the factory uses to align the emblem during installation so use the line floss and move from top down to center and then from the bottom up to the center.

Applying some heat and Goo Gone or rubbing alcohol helps.
Thanks all...
2 - 15# test lines twisted + heat + a plastic putty knife did the trick.

It's all in the heat gun and how much you apply. Apply too much and you ruin the paint. Apply heat and then slip a piece of thin cardboard under the top of the emblem. Use a broad tip screwdriver between the cardboard and emblem and gently pry the emblem off as you apply more heat. Just be careful not to apply too much heat and do not use too much pressure on the screwdriver. The emblem will start to give as you wave more heat on to it.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm hoping will reply...
I am planning on removing my trunk emblem and have plenty of fishing line but no heat gun. I have a hair dryer somewhere and an extension cord, but is the heat truly needed?

the hair dryer is better then nothing. warmer the adhesive gets, the easier it will be to remove

Why even remove it,i think it makes the car look to generic by removing both emblems.especially with out rear spoiler just my .02 .

Almost forgot I posted this. Thanks for the replies! I plan on removing the rear badge in order to put something else in it's place. I do like the shaved look on cars but I have other plans. I will post pics when done. Here's a hint, the car will be renamed Marauder Prime. Thanks again!
