I wonder... conspiracy theory:
A news report like that pretty much always brings about a price increase at the pump. It'll go up tomorrow. Maybe the oil companies and media are in cahoots? Kind of like the bakeries, dairies, grocery stores, and weathermen

So, when demand rises, they raise the price?
Wow, why didn't they think of this before?
Paid $2.84 at Chevron yesterday for 93 octane.
I don't care if it goes up or not, the worlds economy is contrived, old school pricing is gone, now it corruption and greed. I'm not going quietly, it's 130+MPH right into the next life.
F--k'em and feed 'em pomegranates.

i'm sure if gas prices are gana keep rising the only thing that's gana happen is the economy is just gana shrink even more when people start cheaping out because they need what's left of their EI benifits for fuel.. once another bubble bursts and america is another 10 trillion in the hole then maybe gas prices will drop again.

So what do you think about American Hockey teams in Vancouver?

Y'know, last year I was thinking about biking to work (10 miles) when the weather got nice. Then I decided against it. I think this year I might just give it a shot. Lords knows I need to lose about 100 pounds, so if I can stick it to OPEC in the process I might just do it!
Plus, there is an assload of dust and pollen in my work parking lot, which makes the Marauder look like ass.
Just trying to see the positive side of it, that's all...

I watched the womens team throw the Swedish women a beating. Hmm....that sounds dirty dirty.
Watching the Canadian women whip on Finland now. Looks like the US and Canada!

In a related note, found this below on the origination of BOHICA. I actually saw these stickers back in 1978 on cars at NOB Norfolk for pre-com Nimitz crew so I believe this is a true story:
"This is a story about the USS Nimitz, and as an airwinger, we worked with all the other airwings, so Nimitz was know as "NumbNuts". They had a contest shipboard wide for a new bumper sticker slogan, so someone came up with "USS NIMITZ CVN 68 BOHICA - Our screws never stop". Of course, BOHICA stands for "Bend Over, Here It Comes Again". The person that "sold" it to the Khakis said it was "Best Overall - Highest In Carrier Aviation" and this one WON!!!
The new bumper stickers were seling like rubbers in Lisbon... and after thousands were sold, the skipper found out what BOHICA really stood for, and had the MAA's in full force scraping the stickers off the cars in the parking lot.
I thought it was just a BS sea story, intil I saw one on the back of a pickup truck at the NAS Oceana automotive hobby shop."

Happens every time. The press makes a report that gas is going to go up at some point in the future (maybe 6 months or so) but the price of gas at the pump goes up overnight. $2.42 yesterday, $2.58 today.
