Well a few months back I had a get together at my house for some guys that came home on leave from the military.
Turns out they decided to be ******* and walk/sit on my Marauder for pics and such.. I didn't find out until the next morning.
So anyway.. problem im looking at now, is when the trunk is popped it dosn't raise up a foot like all others should/mine used to...
And since ive bought the car ive noticed the trunk (or the whole rear end) has looked a little off, the car had a very minor bump to the rear right before I bought it.

So if anyone has an explanation for the release being worn out, or how to realign my trunk oh btw..
left side is flush with headlight right has sank below the headlight a bit.
So thanks in advance!!!

well there are a coupple of rubber stops on the trunk you could adjust so it sit's flush, if all the gaps look the same it should not need adjusting, is it binding anywhere?

what u mean by binding?
I adjusted the right rubber thing and it took like 2 turns to level it out... but now that i look at it.. its like.. to far over to the right.. there's barely a gap between the headlight and trunk on the right side and a decent sized gap on the left side.
When I shut it I can see it shift to the left to set on the hook.

if you take a look all over your car, you will notice all of the body panel gaps and such are not all that straight or even. and if your wondering about the gap below the tail lights, thats common as the bumper support underneath stops short and the plastic sags around it.

There are differnt holes you can place the tention rods into to provide more lift and or strength to the opening of the trunk lid.
Over time they do lose the ability to work as well. Change the posstion holes they sit in and it will open all of the way on it's own when you hit the release button.
I know once I add the trunk lid insulator to mine I will have to do this because the spoiler stoped it from doing anything bit slightly lifting up once that weight was added.

I have seen so many posts where I had the info needed but ended up being late on the correct repair so now worries I guess.
Better late than never and always good to have a confirmation on the info so the guy knows it is the best fix.

Be very very careful when moving the tension rods. You can do serious damage to your car and or yourself.
