Well interesting drive after work yesterday....
Taking the cross town expressway from Tampa to Brandon when this guy in a black Altima cuts me off w/inches to spare (I'm in the G35 since the MM is apart). I slam on my brakes so he doesn't remove my bumper cover for me and hit the horn.
The guys starts waving his arms like crazy, slams on his brakes, and jumps out of his car (this is on the expressway). Me being the calm and collected person I am hop out to.
He starts yelling at me saying he had his blinker on and that I was an (expletive here). I calmly explain that just by using his blinker he had no ownership of the lane as I was already there and had the right away.
He proceeds to say F-U you geeky M F'r (I am in my work clothes, polo shirt, pressed slacks, hair combed w/my glasses on so I look the part) and shoves me.
I say don't touch me again or I'll knock your *** out to which he responds with another shove. Before he could completely remove his hands from my chest I came around and knocked his *** out.
I wait a minute make sure he gets back up. When he does about 30-45 seconds later he starts running for his car screaming "I'm calling the cops, you are going down".
I respond to this by getting back in my car and waiting for him to pull off figuring this whole incident is over. Instead he throws his car in reverse and starts backing up towards my car. I also throw my car in reverse punch it, and slam it into gear and whip around him into the other lane.
He decides to follow me and attempts to ride my rear end, until I slam on the brakes while we are doing about 60. Finally he gets the point to back off and leaves me be turning off a few exits later.
Spent the night all worried that the cops would show up at my house or that this guys was still following me on the expressway. I also didn't realize until I picked my wife up the guy had leaked all over me. Need to get my nice linen pants dry cleaned and hope they can get this guys blood out.
It was bad move on my part to get out and tangle with him but I got caught up in the adrenaline rush. I'm lucky there was no gun or cops involved.

For sure. Never know who's carrying these days, but generally if they're legally carrying they don't start *****. It's the illegals that you gotta worry about, that's why my pocket is always full.

Good work.
But, be ready you should be hearing from an officer of the court in about a week or so.

I don't see the problem here. He was forced to stop, then forcibly assaulted, then forced to defended his awesome polo shirt and dress causual slacks. No one in their right mind would see it as his fault.

When I had my Mustang about 9 yrs. back, I had a guy blow a stop sign and make a right turn in a Pick up truck from a side street right in front of me........ The rest is an almost exact duplication of your story cept he wound up in the bed of his truck:coolman: Never had any repercussions follow me. Thank god..... Hope the same for you.
Like Brian says though, we never know what clown has a gun these days.
PS:Cougar "I know a guy" Vernacular for I have a decent dry cleaner if ya need one LoL:D

Went to the police and filed a report with a picture taken by them of his face.
Went to the court house the next day to file assult charges.
Seeing he was the one who contacted the poilce and had a mark on him and you left the place where it all took place he has the law behind him and all the proof he needs.
I hope I am wrong and it blows over for you but maybe a call to a guy that is a Lawyer is a good bet to see if there is a way to cover your ass just in case?
I am not saying your in the wrong for knocking is block off for pushing you just stating what may happen do to your leaving and opening up doors for him.

I know he got my license plate but I think my one saving grace is it happened directly in front of the toll booths. I believe there are cameras monitoring the area but am not 100% sure.
If we were caught on the state camera system it will clearly show him shoving me first and my defending myself in retaliation. Plus when he went down I didn't pounce on him or start kicking him in the skull. I let him get up and go back to his car with no further comments or contact made by me.
My only other thought is that since there were no witnesses per say (other than the traffic flowing around us) it would be my word against his.
I'm a little worried but hopefully nothing will come of this. Figured I would let it blow by for a couple days and wait for a subpoena if anything.

You are aware Florida has some of the best laws in the country for CCF Liscensed individuals. All you have to do is be threatned, contact is no longer necessary to brandish or fire. I'm thinking you should invest in one. As far as the rest don't worry let him contact the PO PO there's two sides to any story. At best they can charge simple assault.

Her kids were up the street at another neighbors house. Something happend that she called her daughter a :censor: and might have hit her as well.
Anyways Amy went up there and they got into a fight big time. She came back got in her SUV and said she was getting her daughters father and comming back with a bunch of guys to kick their ass.
In the mean time the lady and her husband up the street called the cops and told them about the fight and threat. 5 Cop cars showed up with 2 officers in each car waiting for the return visit.
Arested her on the spot as soon as she got out of her SUV seeing she left the scene of the incident and didn't care about her daughter being hit before it all started.
Had to go to court on assult charges had restraining orders placed where even her kids can not walk by the house on the same side of the street to walk to the park and so much more!
All because she did not call first and wait for the police to come. Then the other lady would have gone to jail for hitting a minor. :shake:

I'm not too sure about that. I have my FL license and we were taught that in a public situation like that, you must attempt to flee before using deadly force. Now if your daughter was in the car and he was going for her side of the car, that would be different.
Right from the FL website:
There must be an overt act by the person which indicates that he immediately intends to carry out the threat. The person threatened must reasonably believe that he will be killed or suffer serious bodily harm if he does not immediately take the life of his adversary.
Threatening someone verbally while possessing a handgun, even licensed, will land you in jail for three years. Even if the gun is broken or you don't have bullets, you will receive the mandatory three-year sentence if convicted. The law does not allow any possibility of getting out of jail early.

The exact reasons that I have a shovel, duct tape and large trash bags in the trunk of the car.
Personally, I would have let him follow me to a desolate place, you fill in the blanks.:gunfire:

I was taught the same thing when I got my FL permit but the law has indeed changed. You can't say what his intention was when he approached this guy's vehicle. How do you (the victim) know he's not armed while he's approaching you? The retreat laws have a clause for CCF permit holders. Now I'm not saying to go get a permit to shoot someone for whatever. I have boxed since I was 13 years old and DO NOT need a weapon to protect myself against an unarmed individual. But this situation could have easily went the other way and maybe the other guy would not have cared about playing football with his head. I was once in the exact same position in FT. Lauderdale and I had my weapon on my person and still chose to lay hands on the guy. When the Troopers arrived he saw I was armed and I gave him my license and he got in the other guy's face and gave him a good one then told him "are you aware this guy is legally armed and could have fatally injured you and there's nothing your family could have done". I also never said to threaten anyone either but if someons is approaching your vehicle in anger the best thing to do is stay in your car, call 911, and place your weapon on the dash to make it visible. This is per the FL Trooper on the scene in my case ;)

Like I told Bawazir.
Next time try this move!! Just stand on your hood and pull. That way you get hurt except for laughing too hard.
And then you could be like "Dont cut off my car dude". And the other guys like " OUCH!!"

Thanks guys, I really hope nothing comes of it. Been a long time since I got in any trouble so I don't want to start now.
The G35's trunk isn't big enough for that kind of work Spectragod. At least the MM would of had the organizer in it to keep the liquids contained and easily washable.
I didn't get his plate, didn't think about it till I was already in front of him. Adrenalin was pumping and not thinking straight.
I felt I had a right to stand my ground, so I felt good about the results. We will just have to see if he is one of those guys who starts fights and calls the law after they get beat up.

If your going to drive a small car, then you'll need a razor knife or a sawzaw, the bags make for easy storage of parts and keep cleanup to a minimum.

The Law has been changed, you no longer have to flee, it is called "Stand your ground". If I understand it correctly. Good luck. I think you would have heard something by now if a report was filed. The dumb azz probably has a history of stupid behavior dating way back that will come to light.

You would think a guy claiming to have a CCF permit would make it his business to know the laws in the state he resides. On the other hand i'm kinda shocked Phrog is capable of writing something that was'nt foolish as usual, wrong or not. You get a star!
