I have decided to go with 4.30 gears, a C&L 85 MM MAF/Air Filter setup that LML mentioned, MMDS, and last but not least SCT Pro Racer Tuning software. I'm going to look into ways to make it easier to remove and reinstall the chip. To me after spending a few months on this and other 4V websites, these are all going to complement each other.

Side note: If I tune my car with the SCT chip then take it to the dealer, do I tell them not to reflash the ECC? Will they freak over these mods. (Guess I'll have to call them, damn.)

Hoping to acquire all the parts, and be done around Christmas,
That will be sweet.

Future mods:
Kook's or Dennis's Exhaust System
Fabricate ram air to cold air box in engine bay (unless Dennis puts one together first.)

Does anyone have any advice or feedback for these mods.

If you are going to use the SCT tuning, then it's my understanding you re-flash the ECM yourself, rather than using a chip...that way if the dealer flashes over your tuning, you just flash it right back, no harm / no foul.

As far as them freaking over the mods...some will, some won't...there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it...maybe tell them you were thinking of doing some mods and see what their reaction is...mine was very polite, but told me I was on my own if I did any...

I think you'd be happy with the addition of a swaybar as well. Think about it.

There's a lot of good info on www.corral.net . Its a Mustang and Cobra website. But, there are a lot of people with a lot of knowledge of modular engines.

Hyperteck doesn't make one for the 4.6?

Hello 1bad.... keep in mind the 4:30's are going to take away a tad bid of freeway fun...and make long trips a little louder and costlier. This is just my advice, you seem to know what you are doing, and have made your mind up. We're all friends here. We just look out for each other. I like my 4:10 setup, and it's not bad on long trips...although I do miss the better gas milage, and in a couple of occations missed the OEM highway gears whilst chasing someone down over 80 mph.

As far as the MAF, you're over my head now...all I know is what I've heard: It's good, no need to change it etc, etc....ehh, whatever. Maybe I'll learn something from you now?

Good luck, and keep us informed.

I missed the MAF part. In my wanderings around the internet, it seems (without scientific research or even writting anything down) that Pro-M MAFs are more popular than the C&L's. fordchip.com recommends them. You could also try a Lightning MAF. Its 90 mm (from memory), may be cheaper than the C&L, and probably will plug right in. However, you'll need a chip burned/dynotune or need to get it recalibrated for your set up. But, if you intended to dynotune it anyway, it may save you some money and it will perform just as well or better. I am using the Lightning MAF in my Cobra.
