Thanks
Dave

It was the one thing I didn't do to the engine that I wish I had for looks.
Ever since last Spring I have been trying to get my hands on one so I can do the face of the engine that same anodized silver as the upper plenum and throttle body.
While the pully's are off I am going to chrome them there is a place in CT that will do anything as small as bolts up to a Cement truck Tank.

Just like I did when I tore apart the top of the engine and cam covers to work with. I plan to do the same thing with the timming cover replacment.
Show the steps in the work and the replacment process. So that again if someone wants to do their own work they will have a reference to go by and or fall back onto if they run into problems.
Just wondering if I can get it into the oven for the bake / curring process for the paint stages?!
Here are pics of what I did so far.

The upper plenum is dirty in the pic when it was taken but the timming cover will be the same color as the Intake Plenum, Throttle body and cross over tube. In the sun light they sparkle like silver gllitter.

Nice work Leo! Looks like I see some JBA's in there....IDK maybe a little big for a conventional oven... (I also have my own PC machine, very smart)

This work was all done using Duplicolors new VHT engine paint. It is a 4 step process and half the price of powder coating.
oil and fuel resistant and can handle temps over 500 deg F.

the timing cover is actually pretty small, i looks alot bigger then it is. it should fit in an oven.

Chrome Pully and a Gold Alternator should look good on the engine I think with the black end cap on the pully.
Trying to think ahead of time this year with stuff appart to save me back up work @ a lator time.

If I could find a longer tube for it to go to the headers that is more flexable I would.
That M :censor: F is the bigest PITA since I put on the headers to deal with. Takes a lot of strength and time to make it go on without striping the threads.
So I avoid taking it off as much as possable because one of these times I WILL be in trouble with it all!

Leo, I can help you with the length on that EGR thingy. How short is it?

It is not just an issue of being short the header tube it connects to make's it hard to get it to line up with the EGR Valve.
I have to losen it from the headers and unbolt the EGR Valve then slightly thread the end of the tube into the egr and then muscle it into place while trying to rebolt it up to the Plenum and then tighten it all back up.
More swears than you can imagine come out of my mouth to make it happen each time. I need one the same length or just slightly longer I guess but it truly needs to be flexable not solid.

you notice any difference whatsoever with that intake spacer???

Gas milage droped actualy. It went up with the cold air intake and droped with the spacer.
Power wise I honestly could not tell the difference. It is neglegable so in retrospec not worth the money.
It isn't like the old days when you were changing the hight of the carb so that there was more fuel and air atimazation. If it was something that pulled the entire intake up higher and allowed the fuel and air to mix better there would be a large difference that you would both feel and see.

Good to go and thanks!
Once I am done with the other half's car I will get cracking on turning it into what I need for the engine and post the before, during and after photo's.
Thanks Zack for the part!
