I got some catering menus from one of the restaurants at Old Town. #1 looks pricey, while 2 and 3 may be more reasonable. There's also one other option...with 4 food establishments on site we could choose just to eat on our own. They range from A&W fast food up to a full bar. What do you guys think?

I know, I tried calling as well without success. There is another restuarant nearby (can't remember the name) where during MV IV we got a great deal on breakfast. They serve lunch as well and had a huge parking lot where we could put the cars, line up and caravan to and from Old Towne. It real close to Old Town and may be an alternative.

us southern and west coast boys appreciate what you are doing but i know there are more central florida guys that can help out with trying to find a location that is good for all - we need more options like a park or a car show that day(keep in mind the n &s florida cars traveling) - we have money in our kitty from the last picnic that is going towards this picnic to help offset the cost of the food or site - (to keep the cost down per person) and a 50/50 too help this year or next

Wife is recovering from open heart surgery. At this time, hope to be recovered enuff to attend. Been wanting to attend the Eustis show for a while now. This will be that little incentive needed to make the trek.

It will include: 2 meats, 3 sides, ice tea and lemonade, all condiments, paper plates cups etc. Lunch will be served between 1-2 PM.

Due to the cost @ $14.00 per person including tax and tip, we will need to charge members $7.00 per person for the event as we do not have enough funds in the kitty to pay for everything. If you cannot attend, PLEASE LET US KNOW ASAP so we can reduce the numbers to save us money.

For those who are not going to Micky Mouse World i contacted Holiday Inn Express, Tavares (just a few miles from Ferran Park) and asked about a club discount.
They are willing to waive $20 per room for us just by using our group name.
That makes it $69 for a King room and $75 for a double queen room. They have a decent breakfast (and it's approximately 1 hr closer than the other hotel that is close to the main gate, according to Google Maps)
It's the Holiday Inn Express Tavares. Be sure to use "Sunshine State Marauders" during reservation to get the discount.

To all my friends, I am sorry to say my family and I will not be able to attend the picnic this year, my son and newborn granddaughter will be arriving from Arizona that same weekend and I will have about 48 hours to be with them before they fly back.

I've seen on other forums where you can put Cling Wrap (Saran Wrap) on your bumpers and lights and just peel it of when you get there. Also Pam cooking spray but I think that would make as much of a mess as the love bugs. I'm going to try the plastic wrap on the bumper, lights and mirrors!

Also latest weather report from the Weather channel 91 with light cloud cover, Isolated Thunder storms at 20%. Gonna be a beautiful day!

Point of Information: Love Bugs seem to congregate (are out) more
during the hours of 10AM to Noon and then again at 2-4PM.
They don't like the "high" heat of day.

Wash them off within 24 hours or they (acid) can etch your paint!

I want all members here to know that the Marauders popularity and introduction to the FHP was do to one man, he led the charge for Police stealth technology and personally bought the FHP Marauder fleet. I was sadly informed of his passing Friday
