You take the valve body out of your transmission, drill bigger holes in it a various locations, replace a few springs and wha-la you have a J-modded transmission.
Faster more firmer shifting.

You can also buy a valve body already setup with a J-mod already done to it with springs etc at www.bc-automotive.com (http://www.bc-automotive.com)

Hi
I was thinking of doing a J Mod before I do a trans flush & use RP.
Does it make the shifts faster & would a new tune be needed for it.

Yes faster shifts. You may want to dialback your line pressure if it is allready turned up high in your current tune.

If you already have a tune will the J-mod be beneficial or will you need to modify the original tune to compensate for the J-mod?

And then add the J-mod after the tune you might find it shifting too hard for you.
I havn't done either but I would think it would be a little extream with both done.

If the tune you have has higher line pressure to firm up the shifts you will have to return the pressure to normal.

That's what I was thinking just wanted to confirm my thought process.:)
