Am looking for advice for 100K service. Bought my MM new in 2004 and am willing to invest a few dollars to keep it around for another 100K!

I live in the Chicago area ( if that makes a difference as to what I need to replace)

I have not experienced any mechanical problems, have changed the oil every 3-4K and the Tranny fluid was last changed at 75K.

Could not locate a similar thread ( but may have over looked it!)

Change the rear end oil and look for metal particles (shiny).....if you have a bunch on the magnetic plug you may need axles??:confused:

Other than that....keep boogieing!! :beer::banana2:

I have 212K on mine with 130K Supercharged.....engine runs like new.....built the trans and rear end at 160K and 177K respectively!!:beer:

Good Luck!!:D

fuel filter never hurts. check and replace plugs if necessary.

I'm impressed.

As an aside, I used to be the guy that car dealers LOVE to see walk onto the lot: have to have a new car every 2-3 years max. But with the loving influence of my thrifty wife;), and not to mention being scared *****less from the recent crash of the world's economy, I see much more wisdom in keeping my ol' Crown Vic running for at least 8 years rather than purchasing another vehicle.

Proper maintenance is everything!:banana:

Check the maintenance schedule in the owners manual packet that's probably buried in the back of your glove box. It has all the recommended maintenance guidelines.

COPS, made a difference for me. I swapped mine at 115K.

At 100K the O2 sensors could be changed too. Seafoam it, fuel filters, clean your K&N filter, plugs, rear diff. Perhaps a new battery.

All of the above + change all fluids + PCV valve.
