Have any of you had your wheels refinished? The clear is peeling on mine and I'm wondering what I will do with them.
I know someone has had theirs chromed, and that might be something I'd want to do. How is that holding up?
What are the prices you've seen for having the wheels refinished?

just do what I did. buy ALUMINUM make sure it's aluminum paint stripper spray the whole rim down rinse off, that may be good enough for you depending on how pitted they are you may want to wet sand first with 220 then 400 then 1000 then 2000 followed by some meg pollish to shine it up to a perfect finnish, i did that with mine and their brighter then new, you just have to polish them up a few times a year, or you could get them clear powdercoated.

Powder coating would be best thing. We HAD chrome wheels. After a while, the chrome starts to peel on the inside wheel lip and well as the bead area causing the assembly to leak air. I don't know how long ago or who chromed them but, when not done right it can be a pita to keep having to get the assemblies broken down, the chrome buffed off the bead, resealed then put back together. Alas, it will happen though. They do look awesome when chomed out though!!
I'm having mine chromed right now. Widened rears, welds ground down, full polish and chrome on the face and the inner barrel too. Should be done in a couple of weeks. Nitto 555 255/45/18 NT05 305/45/18 for tires. I'll post up some pics when they show up.

just got mine done. Removed the peeling clear and pits. Polished and they look better then new. I never drive in bad weather so I am sure this will work well, plus if i do scratch them I can sandépolish fix them myself.

Here's a refinished wheel I just had done. They redo the inside as well. Looks almost perfect, the clear coat is a little different than stock though.

What he said. A little elbow grease and polished wheels are the best. you can always bring them back short of serious curb rash.
With polish the shine is only limited by the materials you use and the time you spend.
I'll NEVER own another chrome wheel. Not in south Florida for sure. Unless my car became a garage queen anyway.

Yeah they're buffer trails, came out pretty good you can only see them in direct sunlight like that
