Is anyone here running Thrush chambered mufflers?
My OE mufflers have the little pinholes in them and I'm looking to replace with something that isn't very loud, and preferably not very expensive.
I've used Thrush in the past (on my Cordoba) and I loved them. Just looking to see if anyone here can post a sound/video clip so I can make a more educated decision...
EDIT: There is a soundclip on page 4, post #48 with soundclips provided by Nothingsense.

If you want cheap and not loud go with DynoMax.

I should rephrase:
I want louder than the OE, but not super loud. Also, isn't Thrush made by Dynomax?

well what do you call expensive? they go for like 150 a set. i wouldnt weld junky thrush mufflers on since they will just rust out and youll have to replace them again

I was seeing the Aeros for $150/pc...?
Not too worried about rust, as the car doesn't see snow, rain, or salt...

Still would like to hear the Thrush mufflers. If nobody here can post a clip, I may end up just pulling the trigger and seeing how I like them.

Pretty sure they are, wish I could help with the clip but I don't have the chambered ones. Loved the price, I'll say that. I think I got both for less than $80

Adam: you want the Dynomax Super Turbos - $59 each - a touch louder than stock, flow way better than stock. 25" overall length. If you want cheaper get the Thrush turbos 25" OAL. They are very quiet until you get on it
Thats what RR|Suki runs... (sounds great to me)

Thanks for the lead. You got the 2.5" center-in/2.5" offset-out, 25" OAL?
Nopers, I have the shorter ones, I wanna say 18" OAL or something like that. I also have 3" in and out. I dunno if the 25" would be too big, that's a lot of muffler

You are aware the pin holes in the stock MM mufflers are drains for built up condensation.

Hey Adam, I have the Thrush two chamber welded on my car. I paid $55 shipped for BOTH off of eBay. I've had them on for about 8 months now with no complaints. Well, I take that back, I've noticed some vibration but I don't think it's the mufflers fault. I'll record a clip for you as soon as I can.

Thanks. In a nutshell, how do they compare to OE in terms of noise?
Also, do you remember if you went offset inlet/center out (or otherwise), or how long the muffs you purchased are?

If the Thrush Mufflers are a glass Pack stay the heck away from them. My nephew clogged up a cat using that garbage. No luck but bad luck when you go CHEAP!!!!!

How do you clog a cat with your muffler choice? I mean, muffs are after cats, plus glasspacks are pretty much straight-through construction.
The Thrush glasspacks I had on my Cordoba were awesome.

Don't you need a center in /offset out for the MM?

Doesn't matter. Thrushes will rust and fall of after a year or two anyway.
Condensation forms inside the exhaust and it rusts from the inside out.

They are louder than OEM. Very much like a flowmaster 40 series. I really dont remember what config I went with, I just crawled under the car and measured and got the ones that were the closest to the OEM length and matched the inlet/outlet offsets.
I just posted the two crappy cell phone vids to my facebook page. If you can't see them let me know and I can email them to you.

Dynomax will flow the best and give you a "slightly louder than stock" sound. They're pretty inexpensive.
Thrush sounds like crap in my opinion, the only time you can hear them is under WOT and they sound harsh.

Impossible to clog a cat with a muffler... LoL
Unless your exhaust is sucking in, in which case you have some serious problems lol.

Hahaha, I know about Jerry's pipes. Me and him played on 480 on the way back from QS&L that time I came out there.
I'm on the fence, with that being the other option. But I'm not sure I want to make a loop of Lake Erie this summer with those things screaming at freeway speeds.
We'll see. So far it's between the Thrush mufflers and straight pipes.

I've met up with Black Noise a few times and he has straight pipes. It does sound good, just too loud for a DD IMHO. I can say I've heard my car from about a 100' away as a tech was test driving and it sounded awesome from far away too. Not too loud, but enough to make people turn their heads.
