View Full Version : Looking for volunteers to contact crownvic.net admin

I applied for an account on crownvic.net but still haven't been authorized. I emailed the admin to see what the holdup is, but it came back as undeliverable. I contacted UBB support and they said there's nothing they could do.

I'm looking for a volunteer with a crownvic.net account to PM the admin and let him know his email doesn't work.

Reply here if/when you do so we don't spam the guy's inbox. He probably already knows his email is down, but I'm all out of ideas. Suggestions are welcome.

Thanks!

It took me three tries, and two months, but Adam said sometimes it takes a while.

I sent a PM to an Admin at CVN. I hope it helps.

I got a reply from the admin at CVN. He said he has been swamped with registration requests. He has about 150 requests to go through. It takes a while to get through them all because some of it is just spam. He apologizes to those who are waiting, and will get to them all.

I pretty much bailed on that site. Had verbal tussles with youngsters with imitation police cars and I caught a vibe some posters there think MM owners have attitudes (when the only attitudes I dedected were theirs). Havent been on in a while, maybe later Ill see if its changed.

Yeah...I'm guessing the average age of a member on this forum is around 35; the average on CVN is probably 21 or so. Different stages of life...

CVN is psycho with their registration process, they run a damn background check on you lol

CVN does take quite awhile to approve new members. I don't know why they go through each member and manually approve them, but they do. My membership took weeks.

It's a great community with a ton of tech information.

Yeah, there are some young kids there that get annoying, but they either get banned or whipped into shape by the established members. None of the "how do I put strobes on my car" or "I bought this car because I want to intimidate people" talk is permitted on the site (at least not without everyone flaming said poster). The mods do run a tight ship; I've been there since '05.

Just a different site with different interests as someone else said. Here, the average age is definitely higher than on CVN. Comes with the territory of more expensive/upscale vehicles.

CVs arnt as fast as mms, maybe the website is the same? MM.net has been down twice (by my count) to CVN's zero this week...and CVN always, always, always loads faster than any of the other car forums I frequent (this, LXforums, ClevelandRacing, ColumbusRacing). :burnout:

I didn't know they had any more of a process than any other site. When I registered there a year/year and a half ago, I think I was active the same day. or at most 1 day later.

I can tell you this, If your using a hotmail email, your membership will never get approved, due to the ridiculous amount of spam signups that come from there. I just helped another local to me member from here finally get approved there on there.

Your registration is showing in queue, but it also shows that you have not verified your email. I don't approve them until the "no" becomes a "yes." You should have received an automatic reply when you registered. That reply contains a link that is used by the system to verify that you got the email. If you didn't get it, either your provider or your own spam filter didn't let it through. It definitely went out of here. The system automatically deletes any registration that isn't verified by the user within 24 hours. I will override this one.

As far as the length of time it sometimes takes for approval, there can be times when life has priorities other than administering CVN. That was been the case for the last week or so. Over the course of Monday and Tuesday, I went through about 150 registrations. CVN typically gets between 20 and 30 new registrations a day, most of which are legitimate.

Going through the queue can be time consuming because of the number of spammers that I try not to let through, and because of people like Black_out who get banned, or tagged as "bed sellers," and keep registering and reregistering new accounts to get around it.

I haven't posted here for a long time. I wonder what my signature looks like! :D

Actually, you did not use a Yahoo account. Unless it really wasn't you I just approved.

My sister-in-law had a Volvo XC/90, I thought it was a nice car.
