if you take your front plate holder , it will leave two small holes in you front bumper cover , somebody backed into my mm and smashed the plate holder , there were two small holes where it was attached . it wasn't anything i was worried about .

Mine on my 2000 CV was pop riveted with those BIG BOYS!! I didn't order the car and most dealers get them on all of their cars!

I drilled them out...patched the holes and painted with touch-up!!

In SC we don't need one and I think the car looks much better without it!! :D

If it was installed by the dealer with the rivets supplied by Ford (you should see a black 1/2" rounded head with a hole in the middle), carefully drill out the rivets with a 7/32" drill. The rivet is aluminum and drills very easily. Switch to a 1/4" drill and the rivet head should should fall off or remain on the drill bit. The back part of the rivet will fall down between the bumper cover and the bumper. It can be retrieved by pulling out on the bumper cover and reaching up to grab it if it didn't fall to the ground on its own. I filled the remaining two 1/4" holes in the bumper cover with a very low profile black plastic plug from an electronics distributor and it looks great to me even against my blue MM color. If you're interested in the plugs PM me and I'll send them to you (I bought extras).

Hmm, Nevada law says you have to have a front and back plate. If you are driving a car with no front plate I can guarantee that the Highway Patrol will stop you. Not the city cops, they are too busy, but the Highway Patrol will and lecture you....And just how do I know this for sure?????

We are supposed to have front plates here too, but you know, I have never seen a Corvette or Viper with a front plate, and they never seem to get bothered
