I would suggest doing a real shift kit, its the better way to go. Also get a tune if you don't have one. Were in WI are you?

Ok, thats fair.

The J-Mod is a shift kit, For what its worth...and the most effective for the least money...developed by the original 4R70W engineer.

Yep, Jerry's mod. I'm confident I could tear into it myself, but I would need a pretty good walkthrough.

My car runs great on Zacks tunes :D

Seems like a pretty in-depth walkthrough, but pretty confusing for a guy like me who has never torn into a transmission.

Only thing I've ever done was a fluid/filter change =/

It's really straight forward and easy....the "fluid shower" is the worst part!!!

When I did mine I was not aware the line pressure was so high...trying to get harder shifts without the "Mod" .....the "J-Mod" made it VERY HARSH but my tuner guy has adjusted it so they are crisp at less than half throttle and very solid above half throttle.....I LIKEY!!! :bows:

If anyone needs it I have a new OEM Separator plate and gaskets!! PM me??

This really is straight forward, with no special tools other than a drill and a couple normal sized bits. All I can say is have plenty of shop rags ready. As far as the trany bath, just be patient when loosening the last two/three valve body bolts, let it run itself out, then loosen a slight bit more, and keep repeating. I didn't get all wet? Just me arms. I used a dewalt cordless drill to remove all my bolts. I followed those instructions thoroughly except I did not drain fluid through the cooling line. Have some faith, we are all here if you need us. PM me for my number if you run into problems, I doubt that you will need any help though. It's been a year since I did mine, but I might still have some of it in my memory banks. I tend to forget more than I learn as every day passes...

Maybe I'll get froggy and try it out one of these days. Just scared to screw anything up, she's my daily driver and I'm definitely not paying 250$ for the pre-done kit.

All I know is this : I made a thread on CVN after I bought a tuner from Zack, asking questions to see if anyone had experience using his tuner/tunes. After a million people chimed in, some saying good, some saying bad, I had been running his tune for a few weeks and had talked to him on the phone -

I posted saying Zach's a cool guy, and that I loved the tune basically. Well Lonnie called me almost immediately and tried to convince me Zach was a crook and generally badmouthing him. I told Lonnie his tuners/tunes were overpriced and he took it personally lol.

The next day I was banned

Oh and I also bought some Steeda UD pullies from Lonnie that arrived all scratched up like they had been used or something, argued with him about it just trying to swap them out for new ones, and he threw a hissy fit, refunded my money and told me to keep the pullies and never to contact him again. He told me to call Zach for parts. (LoL)I think that also had something to do with it

Anyone wanting to know the real story they can email me at lonnie@blueovalchips.com or call me 317 718-7231 and I can set it up so you can hear the obscene phone message Maximillion left for me and I can forward you all the emails between us and prove who was out of line. I’m not going to get into some stupid pissing contest here or on any forum. This thread isn’t about Maximillion.

In short Maximillion contacted me for one of my programmers and a custom tune. I gave him the price and he didn’t like it. He tried talking me down on the price and I wouldn’t come down on it. He seems to think that he can name my pricing or what my time and tuning are worth. Someone contacted him and told him to contact Zack. Zack gave him his offer with a used unit and a program. Maximillion contacted me back about getting just a program. I told him of how Zack has stolen programs from tuners, used bootlegged software and sells it. I also explained to him that buying an XCal 2 from Zack that was unlocked with the 2.9 software of his would not be able to take a custom tune from any legit SCT tuner / dealer and so he would be stuck using only Zack’s programming. Next thing I know Zack is emailing me giving me crap over this and saying that I searched Maximillion out to blast Zack. I replied back with the facts and got a reply back from Zack where he admitted to this and then tried to justify it. Maximillion then tried to discredit me on the thread and so I posted up some of his and Zack’s email. I did not want to waste anymore more time with this so I blocked Zack’s emails and so the fight continued on the thread to which I stopped replying.

Maximillion also purchased a set of Steeda pulleys from me. He posted pics of them on the CV forum boasting about them and the other parts. He then emails me saying that I sold him a used set. Now these were factory sealed when they left me. I told him I don’t sell used parts but he insisted that they were used and damaged and was going off on me. I looked at the pics and even blew them up that he posted on the forum and seen nothing wrong with them. I asked for better pics from him and didn’t get them until a week or more later. He claimed that I had repacked them also so I pulled 4 different sets from the shelf and took pics of them to show him how Steeda packs these pulleys. During all this he is cursing me out and being unreasonable. So I told him fine, send them back and I’ll refund you. He didn’t want that at first he wanted me to pay him for the damages. Now I still haven’t seen the any pics from him except on the forum and they looked fine there.

I’ll have to go back and look at the emails again but to say exactly what took place in the proper order but this is what else took place. Maximillion then threaten me with posting on several forums that I ripped him off by selling used damaged parts if I didn’t do as he said and give him what he wanted. I don’t play that game and especially when I did nothing wrong and have offered to refund him his money. He found a lower priced set and then wanted me to refund him the difference between what he paid me for mine and Steeda. Steeda at the time was having a sale and free shipping. So now he figured that after he purchased them from me that I should price match this company that manufactures the parts and is 100 times bigger than my company. I told him no and the fight continued. Then finally decided to take my offer for the refund, but he wanted me to pay for all his shipping from me to him and back from him to me PLUS he wanted compensation for all his troubles or he would go on the forums and smear me. I of course refused his offer and so he continued to badger me and whenever he was given the chance when he seen someone asking about my tuning he would play the Zack card following me or my business around the forums. In the end I sent him his full refund including shipping and told him he could keep the pulleys for his compensation and to never contact me again. I did finally get the pics and the pulleys were not damaged or used, the water pump pulley had a scuff mark on it and a superficial scratch from bouncing around during shipping. Most non professional people would actually scratch them up more with just installing them. So what he was wanting was something for nothing with my programmer, tuning and parts. People seen what he was doing on the forum with him following me around and started talking. I had enough of it and brought it to one of the admin’s attention, that’s all I did. A week later he was cursing on the forum and got himself ban for 30 days. He’s now back as Mad_Max and yet he is still badgering me and leaving cursing voicemails that my kid has also overheard when I wasn’t in the shop. Like I said, if you want to hear and see the truth about this just contact me and I’ll send it or let you listen to his voicemail. That’s all I’m going to say about this situation. This subject doesn’t even belong in this thread but he feels he must continue to badger me even though I’ve gone above and beyond dealing with him.

Let's not start this up again, I can post up the pics of the pullies, they were not scratches from shipping, but deep scratches.

And what the hell are you talking about I'm leaving you emails and voicemails? I haven't talked to you since you threw a hissy fit over the phone and told me never to contact you again.

Don't try and blow this out of proportion dude, you're making yourself look stupid.

All I wanted was for you to cover the shipping to swap the sets out, and you wanted to make it seem like I was trying to scam you, like it's my fault for receiving scratched up pullies. So yeah, I was upset and "badgering" you by sending you 2 emails asking to exchange them.

And why then was I banned from CVN? I cursed in a thread? ********. A million guys curse on CVN everyday, but as soon as I have a problem with the great Lonnie, I curse in a thread and I get the banhammer.

I've been over this whole situation for a long time now and I'm fine not being on CVN so lets just leave it at that.
