The head unit is installed and it looks and works great.

Just a few things to figure out:

The light control does not work properly. All of the dash lightsare now very dim and do not adjust -- I think it is pinned to the wrong wire. Anyone know what wire it should have been pinned to?

What wire needs to be tapped for the speed sensor?

Is there is a way to defeat the safety feature that limits access to certain screens when the car is in motion?

I have a road trip coming up and I am pumped!!!

THANKS JOHN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!

Disabling the safety ground feature is quite easy.

On the relay hook pins 87 and 85 to ground, pin 86 to the remote turn on, and pin 30 to the green parking break wire.
Disclaimer: It's not our fault if you get busted for watching Jackie Chan movies while your driving.

Did you do the install yourself or had someone else put it in. I just bought a Avic Z110 last week and i'm planning to have it installed, looks like its a pain in the azz with all the wiring

One of my partners in the speed shop used to be an installer. I watched, asked as many stupid questions as I could think of but did not have to do anything significant! :D

I think I now know what I need to know for the speed sensor, the bypass, etc., and I will probably will let Brandon do that too.

Guess I will have to buy him dinner!!! :banana2:

SPEED SENSE: gray/black wire, pin 5, gray 22P plug @ LCM
RADIO ILLUMINATE: light blue/red (dimmer) (+) @ radio harness

Info is from a 03 Grand Marquis which should be the same for the 03 Marauder but always double check.

If I remember correctly when installed it on my Volvo I moved the safety ground/emergency brake sensor to another pin and just ground it so I can use all the features whenever :) (Don't tell pops though ;))

Hey Marty: Big Slim got the bypass installed when he upgraded the system on the Banshee. Have yet to test it out though.:o

Doesn't matter if you bypass the ground, a licensed dealer (installer) of the product just can't do it for legal reasons.

There are TWO light blue/red wires. The thinner one is the steering control interface. The thicker wire is the dimmer and will ONLY work when the light sensor on the dash sees darkness. Gray/black is speed sensor. It can also be found at the LCM and back of the gauge cluster.
