Hankook Ventus AS RH07

Anyone have any experience with this tire. I can get a matching set 235/55/18 fronts and 255/55/18 rears. They are V rated and have an XL load carrying ability so they should work well on a heavy boat like the MM. I'm trying to match brands for the front and rear.

They look similar to the BFG's. I wonder how that center rib will wear? Not a bad looking tread pattern though.

I've been running them on the rear for a few years. Handle great, wear like iron. :up: :up:

If your car has traction control, will the taller front tire cause problems, 235/50/18 vs 235/55/18?

Depends what the stagger ratio is. If 4% to 6% difference, should be okay.

The difference is 3% . The rear needs to be 3% bigger than the front for traction control to not puke.

Jim, you basing the ratio delta on diameter?

I believe that is correct.

Thanks for the replies, guys. After some research and a couple of phone calls they will work. I am ordering the four today. I still have brand new BFG's 235/50/18's OEM for the front so if I have any issues with the 235/55/18 I'll use the OEM's. I was after a matching set and found the Hankook's. From reviews I found on line they seem like a good tire. I'll post some feedback once they are installed.

As for the traction control it should be OK. In the stock configuration there is a 17.25 mm difference in the sidewall height. With 235/55/18 front and 255/55/18 rear the difference is 11.0 mm sidewall difference. Should still be within spec for the T/C. Nice thing is these tires are readily available.

Is sidewall height and tire diameter the same thing? If 3% difference is what is necessary to keep T/C happy then the Hankook's are cutting it close. 29" for the rears and 28.1" for the fronts, that's a 3.1% difference.

Let is know because I would like to get away from this mix and match scenario;

The stock tire difference is 4.5%.

I'm running them on the front & I think they handle great in all weather & seem to give me a much smoother ride than the originals (BFG) , I also intend to have them on the rear, I think it is a great tire, & doesn't wear in the front like the BFG, but then again I had them aligned with laser technology, all good with Hancook !!!!!!!!!!!:):beer:

Im ... Toyo proxes st ... 255/50/18 on the front.. 255/55/18 on the back trac control not a problem.. Toyo tires available everywhere.. The only thing i dont like is they make a lot of noise when you spin them or corner hard..

I too wanted the same brand all around. I bought General Exclaims UHP.
235/50 for the front and 255/55 for the rears.
