After months of reading Glenn's Shorty threads/posts the time has come:D I finally pulled the trigger and bought a set of FRPP Shorty headers M-9430-E465 for $239.
http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/M9430E465
Now looking for the EGR adapter; where can I get one? PN#?
I am looking to fix my tune and baseline prior to installing so hopefully be able to post some results on a 5.3L.
Cheers!

It says "will not fit 03-04"? But there is a guy on here that runs long tubes for an 03 mach 1?? I'm confused, which ones are the best fit?
PM Musclemerc for your adaptor needs. Great guy, great work!

I've researched these for a long time now, Ford only made 1 set of shorty headers for a 32V engine, so I just checked the FRPP site and the listing changed it use to say 03~04 cobra and did not list the 96~01 cobra thats weird. The ony option you could get is coated or uncoated so they should indeed work for your MM BCastro. Daym thats an excellent find for new headers! Only 1 set left and Ford dos'nt make them any more, someone better jump on this!

I think that is a sales and marketing ploy...because I ordered them which showed 1 left and after I ordered it still said 1 left...LOL
I searched high and low for a set after my ebay bid fell through and the guy with the used stainless set flaked...so I am happy...for sure!

I knew all the hits would bring you some paydirt, Looks like Cali will have to pick on someone else for emmissions! Nice find, full 2 1/2" downpipes, unlike our stockers that go down to 2". Don't forget the passenger side gasket for the flat flange.

All right - last time and I will not mention it again. I really believe you are missing an opportunity to install a great hi-flow X-pipe with two hi-flow CATS that perform very well and sound great. It would work very well with your built engine. Enough said ===

i agree with Glenn, putting crappy stock cobra cats on seems asinine. you will probably show little to no gains. you dont think you can pass with 2 hi flow cats? maybe put 4 hi flows on?

Looking to gain horsepower but worried about failing emissions testing? Well your search stops here. This Magnaflow High-Flow catted X-Pipe is your answer to those nasty emissions inspections. Made with two high flow cats, this X-Pipe cuts down emissions, while improving flow through the exhaust, giving you more horsepower!
MagnaFlow's Mustang Catalytic Converter is designed to do two jobs: Reduce Emissions and Improve Flow. The emission reducing task is taken care of by two high-efficiency ceramic catalysts that use heat and a precious metal coating to burn off harmful elements.
Each Magnaflow Tru-X X-Pipe is made with 2.5" diameter, mandrel bent stainless steel for maximum protection and longevity. This midpipe is catted, so it can be used in states with emissions inspections.
All Magnaflow X-Pipes come with all necessary hardware for installation, as well as a lifetime warranty!
NOTE: 2004 Mustangs require the use of 24" O2 sensor plug-in extender wires!

You guys are killing me...I did find a new set of Magnaflows Catted X Pipe for $469 shipped to me! Will need to see if CARB EO is on these...looks like a call to Magnaflow is in order then.
I have a paypal account you all can contribute to the cause...lol
My guy says the Magnaflow Catted X Pipes will pass the sniffer but will not pass the visual inspection....because a CARB EO number has to be stamped on the catalytic converters. Such is life in Cali....:mad2:
Rumor mill:
New CA state law in effect will require a smog technician to place a camera on the catalytic converter then place another camera onto the tailpipe prior to the smog test.

They want to make sure the Tech is not going to allow a car to pass inspection unless it meets CA guidline's and hainvg a video record of each inspection keeps the process honest and make's sure the car meets CA requirments.

Use the stock studs to install (much easier) then replace them with Stage 8 locking bolts later on.

Might want to use more than one tack.... they are a b***h to replace if they blow out... and they will blow out if not welded in.

Just spoke to the Magnaflow technical support and the Catted X Pipe 93335 is not CARB Legal for use in California. No certification means no EO number stamped on the Catalytic Converters. The "ceramic bricks" that are in the casing is dipped in a chemical that cleans/filters for a specific emissions amount. 93335 meets the "federal requirement" however CA requires a higher concentration on the "ceramic brick" to be applied. According to Magnaflow the CA version X Pipe PN 93335 has been submitted but no certification has been issued to Magnaflow. Even if I purchased with no EO stamped:mad2: I would have to swap the X Pipe out every 2 years....:censor:

Well pulled the trigger on some Corsa db blacks straight through exhaust (replacing my Flowmaster 40s). Found a set used on ebay (1500 miles) for a decent price a more than half of what they retail. I am still waiting on my Cobra mid pipes...most are back East so they are balking at the price to ship $$$. Looks like another couple weeks at the earliest.
Videos of some Corsa db red (quieter of the two)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HFjVTcFIPs
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIN1E6GFQ9A
Corsa site Reference:
The ONLY muffler that delivers: MORE HP & TORQUE, A GREAT MUSCLE CAR SOUND & UP TO 4 DECIBEL DRONE REDUCTION IN THE CAR.
Mufflers specifically designed and acoustically approved for your specific vehicle. Straight-through design means 7-10% more HP vs. stock
Premium stainless construction.
Lifetime warranty to the original owner
No stainless or wool packing material to blow out.
TWO SOUND LEVELS:
RED - Aggressive!
Aggressive With More Street Performance/Race Sound.
Recommended for: V8 vehicles only where increased power and sound are desired
Vehicles with headers and high-flow catalytic converters, or no catalytic converters
Aggressive exterior sound under throttle (esp. with headers and no cats)
Features RSC sound cancellation technology to eliminate or significantly reduce drone/resonance + O.E. quality dissipative material to "soften" higher frequency noise.
BLACK - Most Aggressive!
Most aggressive with a "wide open" sound; delivers an extreme V8 sound, both inside and out!
Recommended for: V8 vehicles only where increased power and sound are desired
Vehicles with stock manifolds, stock catalytic converters and/or milder engines (will deliver a great street performance sound and distinctive tone)
Very aggressive exterior sound under throttle(esp. with headers and no cats)
Features RSC sound cancellation technology to eliminate or significantly reduce drone/resonance.
Corsa db blacks PN: 8332543 2.5" offset in/out
