Hahaha, "somebody please answer my questions" cracked me up. Like, I can't imagine a situation where I would say that exact phrase out loud. Plus you only asked one question!

I'm at work until 7am and I'm laughing at everything.

I don't know crap about nitrous. Zex kit + tune? Who the hell knows? Search is your friend. Read it, enlighten yourself, and enjoy:

No mod are "safe". Plenty of info on the internet. Try Google.

Many of our members have installed nitrous kits with good results. I have a ZEX kit with an RPM Window box and it's a gas.

Since this topic has been covered extensively before use the key word "ZEX" and the search function, thread option.

This will bring up about ten pages of threads concerning nitrous systems, installations and pictures.

Nitrous? Safe?

Nitrous? Safe?

X2

No mod is "safe" but Nitrous always seems to be the most "unstable" if you will. Even though many kits now have different saftey switches and stuff its still something that i dont think i would us. But thats my opinion.

Sorry, but if you start spraying your stock motor get ready. It could go BANG!

LowbuckMM has been spraying his stock block with a 100 shot and an SCT can tune for two years now without a single problem. He runs 12.7's or .8's, can't remember right off hand.

It still scares me however.

ONE answer - don't do it! It requries a very good tune from an experineced Tuner. Not many people can tune it properly. Your running on the edge ALL the time - one slight issue and BANG!

From the bottle, thru a tube that runs to the mouth and nose cone. Commence giggling.

Try a progressive system. You could possibly run 150hp or more on a stock motor if you can ramp up the power and take out the initial hard hit.

I used to have a dentist who had a great tune:D...Everyone else..POP goes the weasle. There is no absolutely safe power adder but all of them are safer than nitrous. Dennis

bocat187;

Were you successful in using the search function with the key word "ZEX"?

I've run a hundred shot for several years with good results, low 12's but it's not something I could do on my streets. This was before supercharging, now it's a 50 shot, still works great. Having a safe tune is the secret. In my SCT flasher I had two tunes, one for street and one for strip with nitrous.

Be sure and try the search it's got all your answers.

Me thinks some of these guys are kidding with you.

Mary, Would this thread be better placed in a shop forum instead of the Welcome Forum?

It's all about nitrous and now supercharging.

The only safe way to do NOS is to sit, and inhale through cheese cloth.

03-18-2010, 11:39 PM
You can also get a wet NOS kit.

I just knew seeing title like that in the forced induction section would get reactions like this.

I think a wet shot is safer than a dry shot BTW.

Come on guys, help the new guy out. I'd say a 250 to 300 shot, with about an additional 12 to 15 degrees of timing should be about right.

To actually help you out and help answer your question,

I've heard you can run up to a 100 shot with no tune and should be ok. As for using nitrous on a stock 4.6, it better be in damn good shape because anything wrong with it will be amplified x100 as soon as you spray it.

I'm going to NOS the crown vic, going to stick with a safe 50 or 75 shot TOPS. Just start with a really small shot, see if the motor can handle it, and go from there. Nothing wrong with nitrous but you have to know what you're doing and have a motor that can handle it.

I'll be using a Nitrous express wet plate kit, genx2 upgrade, window switch, bottle heater... yada yada
