What's the fix for a drivers door that sags/drops about a 1/2 inch when opened? Expensive fix? Just noticed this the other day. The pillar pin will raise the door when closing, but it is starting to nick the passenger door when closing. Too much in and out I guess!
Thanks!

Check the bushings at the hinges. Bet they are worn out and may have broke apart. The dealer should have replacement kits for it. these are wear items. Hope this helps. Should not be to much money unless the hinge is worn out from waiting to long. To check them have the doo open part ways and have someone shake the back of the door up and down and you watch by the hinge pins. You will see movement if they are bad.

Mine just started showing evidence of this, not a half inch, but a little movement, guess I need to get this done. One of the biggest reasons I hate a 2 door GM product.

Lower door hinge. They have been going on the panther platforms since 1992.

did mine last summer think it was around $30 for 2 pins and 4 bushings, just ended up changing the lower pin/bushings because the top seemed fine and its a pain in the ass to do. The reason why the bottom wears more is because of the strong spring pushing out on the hinge when the door is opened

You guys need to lube the bushings once in a while with some spray grease. They will last longer.

Is this perhaps why both Marauders we have owned occaisionally make a loud "grroonnkk" sound when opened ?

That is correct.

Spray grease the hinges a few times a year.

Door hinges and catches, Moon roof track, all window tracks inside of the door, hood and trunk release and catch mechinism.

Just a good idea for normal maintance and to help control wear and tear on the moving parts not normaly lubricated.

These guys had everything I needed for my old Camaro doors with horribly sagged hinges.

My drivers door did the same thing. When i went to the dealer for a oil change i told them about it and they fixed it. No charge.
