Could a dead battery have an affect on a tune? i.e. my batt. went dn. over the winter, and i'm wondering if it would cause a perfomance tune to revert to stock, based on everthing having to be reset (clock, radio, ect.) with a new battery?

No, the tune is stored in NVRAM. Loss of power won't affect it.
