View Full Version : BAP Wiring
I drew this up, is this the current school of thought to install the BAP pre- frpdm with a wiring upgrade. I got the GT pump in just wanted to double check on the BAPhttp://www.mercurymarauder.net/gallery/data/500/BAP_PIC.jpg

Use 8 or 10 ga wire from the battery to the relay.

Its just taped into the inertia switch as per Zacks instructions.

That works, but this way gives you more capacity if you use large gauge wire from the battery to the relay. You don't have the voltage drop from the smaller gauge wire and the various connectors in the wiring harness.

that's how mine is, I used a 40 amp fuse but that's the only difference
I have a roll of 8 gauge and my battery is in the trunk so there should be very little voltage drop I'm sure it's overkill but it should work great.
Before anyone says they wont let you on the track, I have a kill switch and it also kills the alternator too so I'm within the track rules;).

Whats is the preferred method of installing the BAP when using the hobbs switch??
I have been searching threads but there are conflicting posts..
Zack?... Fordnut?...

Same way, but why? Full time is the preferred method.

I was just unsure with all the conflicting posts...
So the best bet is to tap into the white wire and just not hook up the hobbs switch...? I am going to use 10 ga wire to the relay.

Short the wires together for the Hobbs switch.

Might as well crank it wide open.

i tapped the white wire, no hobbs switch, and run it at 50% at all times,
i need that fuel.
i remember in the dyno the pressure was still droping to 32psi at 30%.
now it stays at 38psi to 42psi at wot.
