Widest tire on stock rim?

What's the widest tire size that I can safely run on stock Marauder rim?

Depends on who you ask, I run 285/50/18's, some run 295, & 305, on stock rims. I don't think you can, on a pre '03, the quarter panel lip is there.

I just installed 295/45R18's today, looks awesome, no rubbing.

Anything over 265 I'd say your pushing your luck. Bigger tires may fit but you risk excessive side wall flex and possible bead failure. If you want to go really wide have your rims widened.

^ if you are going for performance, bulging a huge tire out on a stock rim is just going to generate more sidewall flex going around corners. People are too cheap to spend the coin to widen and want the looks or just straight line traction, and that's fine, if you like the inflated inner tube look.

+1 to trash, I run/like 285/50/18's, but I think the inner lip on the wheel well of your Aero could cause problems. If you can somehow shoehorn them in there, it really fills up the wheel well and looks righteous from the back.

FWIW, the Continental CrossContact UHP 285/50/18 is safe to put on the factory MM rims, spoke with someone at Tire Rack and someone at the tire installer who both looked it up and confirmed it. The tires have since been discontinued but you can find new old stock on eBay usually.

These are 255/55/18 kumhos
255 millimeters = 10.0393701 inches

Stock wheels are 8" i believe. I wont go bigger than this till i get widened rears.
If you wanna go wider. Get wheels widened, or different wheels.

What brand 265's are you guys running?

When i had my 92 merc i had to the quarter panel lips off to fit my 275/60/15's on them. Was no big deal just make sure you undercoat/paint them on the inside to prevent rust if you decide to do it.
