With the FRPP shorty's coming soon:D I am looking to complete my exhaust setup here.
Currently setup with stock 2.25" piping to 2.5" Magnaflow X-pipe and Flowmaster 40s w/stock Megs w/resonator tips.
Looking to go with 2.5" pipes from the cats to tailpipe using existing Magnaflow X-Pipe and either Magnaflow 14" SS or Aero 2525 mufflers then Magnaflow res delete 22" 3.5" angle cut rolled tips.
Thoughts?

I know you liked the Aero's prior to the Kooks LTs. I am retaining all 4 cats and looking to go with Magnaflow resonator delete tips. Where the Aero's obnoxious/drone prior to the LTs?

no they were awesome! just loud enough to let people know you had something different. ZERO drone at speed, even with my tips mounted farther forward by about an inch or so. i loved that setup

Hey Brian, you are aware the stock set up from the cats forward will not work with the FRPP headers?

I thought the FRPP Shorty's allowed for keeping the 4 cat setup? I know the length and angles will change but the shop I am taking it to will bolt the headers up/tune then will have a exhaust shop fabricate the rest of whats needed. That's the plan anyway....

NO! Your stock flange set up will no connect to Cobra headers. You better research some of my old shorty threads.

i think what he is saying is he wants to still run 4 cats, maybe not the stock ones but 4 non the less. i dont see why that should be a problem.

yea, i'm not putting this all together at 1ce. I'm just getting all the pieces together for the big install. I've had 2 quotes of 1k for new exhaust(F that!!!).

True, the Cobra headers won't connect to the stock Marauder H pipe. I suspect a stock Cobra H pipe would have the necessary 4 cats and would fit the header flanges, then fab up something custom after the cats.

Thank's Brian, I was gonna say that but, I figured he would research it and find out!

I don't have the stock H pipe anymore and have a universal Magnaflow X pipe in place already. Good heads up though...I am sure between the mustang shop, exhaust shop and my mustang club, this site I will find the rest of what I need.

The reason we keep referring to the H pipe is that the mustangs have a one piece H pipe with cats that connects to the headers/manifolds. The Marauder has drop-out cats with the H (or in your case X) pipe connected to the mufflers instead of the cats.
Long story short, get a Cobra H pipe and cut them behind the secondary cats. Bolt them up to the headers (hopefully they will clear everything such as frame, steering, trans) and have custom pipes made to connect between the cats and your X pipe flanges.

"I am retaining all 4 cats and looking to go with Magnaflow resonator delete tips".
DON'T leave the 4 stock CATS on after all your work - makes NO sense. Install the shorties with the Cobra Magnaflow X-pipe (9333?) with the 2 hi-flow CATS on the X-pipe. They bolt right up together. NO emissions inspector will know you had 4 CATS from Ford - trust me. If they see 2 CATS they are happy.
Do not use delete tips with the hi-flow X-pipe or you will DRONE with the mufflers. In my book, I would use the Cobra X-pipe to the stock mufflers and tips and see how you like it before doing anything else. The Cobra X-pipe is louder then the stock one and produces a much deeper rumble.

You know, that's what I thought as well and speaking with the shops/mustang members around here they do look for the 4 cats. Believe me why it makes no sense to you all is because you don't LIVE in my beloved state of California where a lot of stuff doesn't make sense.....hard to comprehend for folks who don't have to live in this whacked out state!
I could say screw it and let the shop doing my work do it and pay a little extra; he's a CA smog tech station as well. But the state is really going after these shops (7-8 shops got busted in San Jose a few months ago) so being on the conservative side.

The inspection crap is likely to get worse soon too. Now that Obamacare is done he can focus on Cap & Trade, Green Energy, and Global Warming. Force some more crap on us we don't want or need.
What was that I read about Los Angeles area Electric Power Rates going up 28-30% to meet their new Green Mandates?

You know there is a new shopping center that opened up a mile or so from my house. New Raley's shopping center beautiful plaza; BUT then I notice they have 10 parking spaces in the front "Reserved ONLY for
Hybrid/Electric CARS"! I was like WT!!! Then I notice they have 2 slots per store in the whole darn plaza!
Since then I now park my cars in those slots (Mustang, Marauder, 3/4 Burb) ALL V8 Power...lol
I dont like the subtle social engineering going on...but a little taste of what we Californians have to deal with....
