The stock throttle body is twin 57mm.

You mean 60mm, correct?

So my handy calculator says 3mm per hole difference.

why u say it like that its not a big of a difference

It's small but it's a nice gain of 5hp peak (with a tune) and much better throttle response. No mod is great by itself but add them all up and you have something.

bocat187
03-21-2010, 06:26 PM
go to performancechipsdirect.com thats where i bought it from. i know i coul have tell the difference when i hook it up and when i took it off

since im pretty sure no one here runs one of these things, id say take that crap off and get your self a good tune with a hand held tuner.

Sounds like its one of those 30HP+ chips they sell on ebay that are usually just a plug in resistor that make you run a little richer A/F mixture.

basically, you arnt taking full advantage of them. when i had my gears put in, i was given the wrong tune and gains were minimum. once i received the correct tune it was a night and day difference. where are you located?

bocat187

Biggest thing with a gear change are correcting your speedometer and correcting the shift points of the trans. to take advantage of more gear.

The "performance chips" basically force a false reading from the MAF sensor, in which the engine computer compensates by dumping more gas into the fuel mixture than it normally would for the amount of air you're taking in to the engine.

Long of the short of it, you're wasting gas to give the sensation of having greater performance. As pretty much everyone has said, it's very much not a prudent way to do things.

Or maybe a Tornado thingy in the intake tube and some magnets on the gas line to go along with the resistor on the MAF?
