Sell it and buy a MM, prices have dropped, it would be cheaper to replace the car, That is unless you HAVE to have a sleeper Vic.

... I have both and would have to agree. Sell it and get a MARAUDER!

yeah i kinda wanted to have a sleeper and its paid for. i want to somethings little by little. my real idea is a turbo system and tub the rear out with big tires just to do something different. i think i would turn heads and still will be able to take the family with me. more for looks than for speed. but power would be there just in case i needed milk at the last min. lol.

You're gonna have $15,000 into a $2,500 car. Then if something happens to it - you're out the whole "investment".

Swap out your engine for a 4 valve one, or at least upgrade your engine to the newer PI heads.

Yeah, he's lying.... I ad a chip on my '02, along wit Marauder MAF, airbox and a PI zip tube. Dual exhaust w/o cats and H-pipe, and 3:73 posi in the rear. With all that I was turning time slips in the 15.0's and 14.9's.... stock MM numbers. So a stock 2V with just a chip won't come close to spanking a Marauder.

This is the best quote in this thread. I doubt you can do it for 15k with what your want list is. Buy a Marauder and you still have a great sleeper! I have done a lot of your ideas and it cost much more than your projections. Check the Michigan forum and look for the SC Grand Marquis threads for ideas.

Yeah when it comes down to it, buying a Marauder is the best option otherwise you will dump a lot of money into the CV.

If you are hell bent on modding it then I would suggest
PI head swap
High flow intake
Tune (which will require you to start running 93 octane)
maybe 3000 stall torque converter
3.73 gears

A good site that sells CV stuff is http://adtr.net/

Geeze...don't be an ass... if you only have 4k into the car with that much HP then YOU obviously have the know how and tools to do it all yourself.Just by coming on here and asking the question the OP did tells me this fella doesn't have 1 or the other.
Do you ever see Zack or Dennis or Brian come on here and say"Well guys I have a brick and I want to make it go 10 sec's what will I need?" of course not...they already know and so do I and so do you,on the other hand this fella doesn't no insult to the OP intended.

Yes, the 4.6 4v requires the 2 turbo's to be .48 a/r to .50 a/r....Volvo turbo's fit that requirement. Found 2 volvo turbos for 150.00 with no end play or shaft movement... The turbo's will be fitted up shortly, install some bigger injector and reprogram the ecm with my laptop to accommodate...I will keep ya posted

Yeah and add fuel pump to that. plus intercooler piping, tapping the pan for oil, etc.... There are quite a few things that need to be added to your list.

Barely low 13's huh - thats pretty respectable. What big tire cars have you seen running low 13's

I think he meant wide, but thats quite the oppossite of a sleeper?

A sleeper is my friends 67 corvair quiet big block front conversion, tube frame, street car or his datsun 210 small block chevy, tube frame, sporting hub caps, car. Yes, he is a welder by trade for Caterpillar and builds frames on the weekends. Those are sleepers, and you wouldn't notice them from any other car on the road.

Build your turbo set up, make it work efficiently, have it dyno'ed and track tested. Come back when you have a product and I promise you buyer's if it works.

But much easier with something like that vs the car's now a day's because of the law's that govern them vs an old timmer like that Ford were you can get away with a lot more and still be legal.

Well, finally got around to taking the car apart. No room in the engine bay for both turbo's (made the exhaust manifolds and all but cant get the exhaust to return to the cats without losing the A/C- Not an option) so decided to put them in place of the mufflers. Both turbo's are mounted and now fitting up the oil return pump and making the intake piping...Found a huge 25" x15" intercooler that fits between the rad support mounts...Looks bad....also has a 3" inlet and outlet. perfect for the intake piping... I will post pics asap

I'd say go for it if you have a forged motor since it will be able to handle all of the boost, Eaton for the low end and turbos for the high end.

All done, I will be testing it out this weekend...just burned a tune for the larger injectors and upgrades. We will see how she runs...From the tests I have done so far ...looks like the turbo's start spooling between 1800-2200 rpm's...perfect for early spooling... Have them set up so one turbo starts spooling at 1800 and other kicking in at 2200-2300 so it shouldn't get too crazy with replacing the sneakers..lol

How about a video of the car in action? How much loss is there with the remote mounted turbo vs. the engine bay mounted turbo? Difference between a supercharger and turbo as far as horsepower gain as well as cost?
