here are some pics of the tires a ran on (15psi) - i do not think the whole tire is grabing the ground - the rims need to be wider

Did you check for recommended rim width John? You may also want to PM blown3.8 on this as they run Hoosiers on Shermans car.

i am pretty shure that sherman had the mustang rims widened - maybe there are other rims i can try?

I honestly dont understand some traction issues you guys have.

Ive run numerous tires over the years and they ALL hooked.

Good luck with the fix though.

If the whole tire isn't making contact, then drop the pressure more. The footprint gets wider and longer. Old trick from back in the days when tire technology wasn't what it is today. Mount a wider slick on a skinny factory rim and drop the pressure down. That's where rim screws came from, also. Not having enough pressure to hold the bead...that and immense POWER!!!
