Some of you were interested in what an aftermarket power sunroof looked like in our cars. The photos are over in the Photo Gallery, or should be as soon as Logan lets 'em go.
Would pass for factory if you did'nt have the trim on the outside, and the cut-off roof console on the inside. The console is the only thing about I'm not real thrilled with. Hopefully when they start coming factory equipped, they'll have a short roof console I can swap out!
The roof they installed was by Solaire. You can find out more about the roof at

Thanks for posting those pictures. I couldn't really tell from the pictures, and I was going to ask you what you thought about the console. I'm thinking I might have to wait a little longer for the OEM parts.

From what I hear, the upper console from the Lincoln Continental sunroof cars is the stubby version they'll be using on the upcoming sunroof cars...

Yea, they could've done a better job on amputating the console. Or just used the one out of the Continentals with sunroofs. But remember, this was an aftermarket job, and they just used what was there.

Did'nt notice that before........ It only reads the normal compass readings. I think the camera flash reflected all the digits on the LCD. It does look like it was meant to say more than N E S or W....

It did steel a little headroom, my hair just touches the headliner sometimes.
Actually I'm pretty happy with the roof over all. This roof seems to have more features than the normal factory roofs do. This one has one touch open or vent, has a pop up wind deflector, and it automatically closes when you shut off the ignition (unless you hold the button down to keep it open. I'm not sure the factory ones will do all that. I do see from another post about the SEMA S55 Marauder, that the roof in THAT car is made by Webasto, who made the roof I've got. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Yah, I was thinking it was probably flash too. That's what I thought though when I first looked up at mine. I'm used to the pick-ups with those displaying miles to empty, mile/gallon, compass, and temp. So, I thought I was getting ripped till I read the manual and found that it IS doing what it was supposed to do. Guess they figured mile/gallon would just upset the led foot buyers of the car. :D

I purchased MM 11/7 and had them install aftermarket Moonroof. I took delivery this evening, but rain here in Atlanta prevented testing out. I'm not sure of aftermarket roof brand, but installer got a little creative. He chopped upper console and trimmed the gap with headliner material (looks OK), but-------he couldn't leave it alone. He took what was left and mounted it behind moonroof opening and wired the dome lite. It's not exactly low profile, and looks like I have a Kleenex box hanging from the roof.
Told dealer to come up with a fix (Short console would be great if available). If anyone has suggestions, I would appreciate.

After seeing the S55 MM at SEMA- The roof console looks just like the stubby one I had in an earlier Lincoln. I believe it is the exact one that Logan described earlier.
