Do all 2003 MMs come with a leather jacket ??

I haven't heard anything from Mercury yet on this and was wondering if the jacket is any good - is it worth trying to chase Mercury up on it ?

Do the Jackets come from Mercury or the Dealer? My new Blue 300B didn't come with one. Did the jackets only come with the 300A's or Black ones? I wouldn't mind having one!

Everyone who buys a Marauder( '03 or 04) new is entitled to the jacket---yes, it is worth it (Over $300)--and it looks great--no external logos, but a wild lining--check the www.mercuryvehicles.com web site under "Marauder"

You're supposed to receive a post card in the mail at some point after purchase. It's a third party company that manages the delivery, not Mercury. Mercury must supply them with the eligible owners' info. I don't recall their phone number.

Any new owners get their post card/jacket yet? How long between purchase and post card? Doesn't matter what color car you ordered.

They come with all new Marauder's to the original buyer's.A card comes in the mail about 6 weeks later in the mail.Try calling 800-613-3905 this is the number I got when I received my jacket order form.

i got a jacket from an e-bay seller. they go for $85 plus $15 shipping for a new jacket in the bag/box. he had several - could be a mercury dealer.

I took delivery of my Marauder 9-16-03. Got postcard for Jacket about two weeks later and got the jacket 11-3-03

I asked LM about the jacket after my marauder purchase. The first response stated that only 2003 owners got the jacket. Here is the response to my second request:
Thank you for contacting Ford Motor Company on 10/24/03. We appreciate the time you have taken to send a follow up e-mail regarding the Mercury Marauder leather jacket.

In an effort to assist, we have performed another search of the resources available to us to respond to your inquiry. Our records indicate that the Mercury Marauder leather jacket is also being offered to 2004 Mercury Marauder owners. Our records further indicate that as per your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), you are eligible to receive a complimentary Mercury Marauder leather jacket.

Please be advised that 6-8 weeks after the warranty start date, which as per your VIN is 10/14/03, you will receive a card that will ask for address corrections (if any) and your jacket size. You will receive the leather jacket within 10-14 days after card is recieved by the department that is processing and mailing out the leather jackets. Thank you for your patience.

I bought another jacket on e-Bay this week. It just came in the mail today, identical to the one I received when I bought the car. I wanted one to wear, and one for the future!! $84 + $12 shipping... There is another auction up for one right now, I think the high bid is around $99... The seller seems to have quite a few of them...

Hmm, does the leather tag inside say "Exclusively for Mercury Marauder Owner " or just "Exclusively for Mercury Marauder" ?

Oooooooh, good catch RC! I had to go and look. The leather tag does NOT include "OWNER." Everything else about the jacket appears to be identical, though...

I wonder if I would get one, the MM that has been at the local dealer for 14 months has now made it to the used lot and being sold as a used car, funny thing it has never been titled or plated. being that the warrenty has never been activated I should get a jacket.

Hey all! I called the customer assistance line today and was told that due to a surprising amount of interest in this jacket program recently, they are low on jackets and will not be sending any more postcards out until January or February. The 2004 does qualify, but they can't cover the demand until next year. I was told to call back after February if I don't get postcard by then and they would take care of it. I bought a demo and the executive got the jacket. But after the Hershey meet I had to have one. With 4.10's, stat, plugs, sway-bar, headers, MMC driveshaft. tint, radar detector, remote electronic start, and the Kenny Brown Dead Pedal what's another $299 for a oh so soft leather jacket. Total cost of owner ship keeps going up.

Who knows, in another couple of weeks it may be cold enough down here for me to wear my jacket for the first time! Bought my car last December, didn't get the jacket until Spring, so I haven't worn it yet.

since the jacket that you get with the car is "different" in that it is labelled for "owner", that says to me that they are selling more '04s than they thought they would.

That's good for counting towards them doing another Marauder for '06 or '07

Hey RCSignals, I'm with you. I would love to see Ford sell a ton of the 04 MM's-get caught with their pants down,if you will. Had the "advertising" and launch of this wonderful, unique car not been so pathetic and botched by the INEPT marketing people, I think they could have found a very receptive and profitable core of buyers. I am amazed every time I drive the car-people of all ages love it, have tons of question about it, and have never HEARD of it!! Cadillac has done a super marketing job with their products(Cadillac=hotrod, if you will) Why can't L/M get their @#$% together and advertise their products like they are PROUD of them?? It's not fair to the folks who build them, sell them or potential buyers who would enjoy them. I hope they get their marketing act together before it's too late. As a life long FoMoCo lover, it saddens me to see the direction we have headed in. Mike

TripleG, I would be beating on the desk of that exec if I were you. Those jackets were only supposed to go to the owners once the Marauders are titled, not the dealer staff. Sounds like someone owes you a jacket, and make sure its the one for owners.

WHat's your post card say. I just got my card this week (bought late SEPT).

"....you...arrive, at your destination in style, as your Marauder does, dressed in black"

Now I suppose you could read this as tho, because YOU are dressed in black (not your silver or red MM), you both are arriving in style, but I'm curious.

got my jacket today from an e-bay seller for $100 shipped. I take a 16" neck - 35" sleeve shirt, stand 5'11" and weigh 160 lbs. large is a perfect fit !!just some info for others that have to order a size.

Seems to me that the "glut" of jackets for sale on Ebay may actually have been prepurchased in 2001 by L-M in advance of the 15K '03 units they predicted in early 2002, and are now being dumped by the original manufacturer or reseller with L-M's permission since the sales numbers never panned out. Regardless, the price is right at $299.00 (and fantastic at $100.00) since it's an exceptionally fine leather and well constructed. I wear mine every chance I get.

I received my jacket pronto! Lamb skin leather, excellent quality. (I am conflicted about the lamb!) Arrived with a garment bag and a cool decal which I am laminating and displaying at Bosch!

Nice theory, but the glut of jackets on eBay are not "Owner" marked.

Jackets sent to buyers of the Marauder have a label marked "Especially for Mercury Marauder Owner" Those jackets you cannot buy.

The jackets on eBay are the ones you can buy from L-M , and are not marked "Owner"

The Beanstalk Group is the promotional company providing the jacket for Ford Motor Co.
Alan Pinter at Beanstalk confirmed on 11/21/03 that '04 MM owners are now eligible to receive a jacket. Originally, only the '03 owners received jackets.
Alan commented that Beanstalk was unaware of the '04 eligibility until recently. Apparently, when Ford indicated on the Mercury website that the '04 MM included a complimentary jacket, Ford failed to inform Beanstalk accordingly.
Alan said to expect a confirming postcard (for jacket size) from Beanstalk in January. If not received by January 31st, phone Alan at his direct # (248) 458-5122.
