Hello all !

I find myself slowly getting back into the "car thing," after spending the last 20 yrs or so pushing around a lot of beaters. (While attending to other priorities like raising kids and whatnot - the itch was always there, just nothing to scratch it with ;) )

So I was looking for a good upgrade from my current '95 Vic (not one of the beaters, btw :)), and I don't need it for a daily driver. Coming from Vics, here's how this goes :

Before a good tune, or any real mods, the basics would be :
- Clean up the handling with some better wheels / tires; maybe go +2 or so, something nice like on the Marauders ...
- Maybe clean it up a little more with some better sway bars, like the ones from Addco or from a Marauder ...
- Open up the breathing, maybe a K&N or Marauder airbox / MAF ... Maybe upgrade the throttle body too ...
- Sweeten up the exhaust if needed, like on the PI's and Marauders ...
- Try to find a Marauder this, and a Marauder that ...
- Marauder, etc ...

I started ... to see ... a pattern ... Why not just start with a Marauder ? So after shopping it around for quite a while, I recently pulled the trigger on an excellent '04 MM in DTR (from a member here, n3fvg.)

Love this car !

Like I said, I've been away from this for a while and have some questions, but I'll try not to bug everyone with stuff like New carb - How many CFM's ? or Is it the lifters ?

Welcome. If you ask about carbs, cfm's or pushrods, you'll take a lot of heat off of Dominic (Motordead350nowaxledeadicantb elieveIfilleditwithkeroseneand haydoyouseemenowlistenpayatten tion). There's also a few othe dress wearing men on this site, I'll let them speak for themselves.

Welcome aboard. Enjoy the site and your new ride. I had a pair of '95 CVPIs before I got my MM. Where in PA are you in? I'm from Pittsburgh.

Cool! Even stock, the Marauder fixes almost everything I hated about the Vic.

Bluerauder - You probably did see this car at Carlisle last year, I'm pretty sure the previous owner was there. Great guy :)

The car is pretty much stock - it has some minor mods (JLT CAI, deep transmission pan, mild tune), but I did not want a tired car that had already been flogged for performance by God-knows-who.
The car has been immaculately maintained and is fresh at about 44k, which was a huge selling point for me - In the Philadelphia area, most of the Marauders I was seeing were clocking double or triple that, and looked like dope dealers had been living out of them for most of it. Cheap tint and all ;)
I wasn't sure I'd like the DRT until I saw it, now I love it - I'm kind of tired of black cars, so Devil Girl red is a nice change. Even with the speed penalty :D

So for now I'm just going to drive it around on the weekends with this big smile on my face, and get a feel for what the next step might be. Some nice, professional tint is at the top of the list right now ...
