I bought two rear tires with a 60K warranty from Pepboys. I brought over my wheels, NOT the car. I had them installed and asked if the warranty was still valad eventhough they didn't put the tires on. They said yes. I asked if they needed the car over to read the miles and they said when the tires are waring out to bring them back. Reading the miles wasn't necessary.

I thinking complete BS. The problem is they know the car, they know how I drive it. They know it won't last 60,000. I'm going to go back there and insists I have something affirming the warranty.

The problem is how do I prove they have been on the car 1,000 miles?

When I ware them out I'm going to another Pepboys that doesn't know the car.

I can tell you now that if they did not get your milage on the car at the time of purchase and install you will have a hard time getting them replaced.

We always warned a customer about that when they wanted to buy a tire then let them make their own choice.

The paper work stated NO WARENTEE when they took the mounted and ballanced wheels.

I don't know about Pepboy's but I would figure they do the same thing just might not be in writing so they can make more sale's instead of being honest.

At all the shops I've worked at, the warranty is valid even if they just bring the rim in. But they WILL give you a hard time, should you ever need to cash in on it.

If you're burning your tires off, why would you even try to cheat them on the warranty?
