I was out near Dayton, Ohio when at a traffic light a blue M3 with black wheels pulls up next to me. I wanted to rev it and take him as soon as the light turned green, but right after the intersection is a soft left turn. The light turned green and we were doing normal posted speeds, but as soon as that turn cleared it was on.

He was reving it and I was giving him the exhaust note right back. Doing 20 I heard his car go down to first gear and then he was off. At first I thought he was just reving it, but he took off. I gave it WOT (Don't worry Zack and or Justbob, I cleaned it... no more oil from tips!) and got right back up to him, but what really caught him was my top end.

It was just like outta The Fast and The Furious (yes you can quote me on that) when the Supra is racing the Ferreri... we went up to 110 or so and in the left lane up ahead was a Ford Probe. I thought the guy was making a left turn by getting into the turning lane, but he was really getting outta the way of the M3! He went back into his lane after we blew by him. By the time I made it to the Probe I already let off the gas to let the M3 cut over to avoid the accident. When I noted it was still on I was back on the gas and was pulling away from that BMW. I had him by a car length by the time I decided to let off.

Keep in mind I had 700 pounds worth of people in my car at the time and a full box of tools in the trunk. By the time we stopped again one guy in the M3 was like "That thing is mean! How much power do you have?" "456 to the wheels at one point. Your car is nice too. Wanna go again?" At that point I gave it WOT again at 15, but he didn't chase so I left off by the time I reached 40. He got behind me and was about to turn off. I waved my hand outside the car and he did too. The most friendly and fun BMW people I have ever come across.

BTW Billy Joe's Uptown Girl was playing... not my choice, but at least my GF didn't request Pink... these days at least. ;)

Dom, everytime I read one of your street racing stories*, especially ones where you weave in and out of traffic, I think of this:

http://car-crashes.org/

To be blunt; I don't really care if someone kills themself while street racing.
It is a chance that they took.......and they lost.
What I hate to see happen is the poor passengers, innocent motorists, and pedestrians getting killed by stupid street racers.

*I know, I know...I'm an old fart!
I'm not against an occasional 0 - 70mph contest between 2 cars on a lightly traveled road, but
weaving in and out of traffic at high speeds on crowded streets is dangerous and dumb.

It was a video of some kids in Russia driving 150 mph and weaving through highway traffic until one of the cars loses it, spins into the other lanes and T-bones a big truck traveling in the opposite direction.

5 dead: 3 in the BMW, 2 in the truck

Whoa, I'll have to scope it out at home.

We didn't go through traffic on this one. I wanted to let off at 70, but not without pulling ahead. I'll watch that video later, but I've probably seen it on street fire. I'm aware if what a car can do and the horrible results a crash can create. I leave out usually that I'm on the brake a lot.

So you and your buddy weigh 700??? There was a tool behind the wheel too! :D Couldn't help it! Ate older M3's with my Thunderchicken years ago... They never liked that.
