I've heard the rears are very busy and ride like crap, but how about the fronts? I can either go with a Gabriel Max Control, or a KYB for the front for just about the same price.

Stock are the best
Stock are the best
Any info to back that up?

I really liked the KYBs in the front w/the stock springs on my old car. Made the front end nice and tight. You are correct the rears were to busy/soft making the rear end feel like it bounced and flopped around when cornering.
I have also heard that the ride w/Eibachs is more comfortable on the KYBs vs the stock shocks.

I have KYB heavy duty shocks on all four corners for years now, LOVE them.

I'm not 100% sure why there is an issue with the rears now as I ordered them on others recommendations.
When I went to order my set 3 or so years ago they had 2 different part numbers listed for the rear shocks. The part number I had that I tried to order was the old part number and I was told by the vendor that they could only get the newly listed part number (555603).
I'm thinking that when the P/N changed there was difference between the new and old shocks. Not sure but guessing dampening rates, compression, or something internally may be different.
This would probably be why there are some differing opinions on the quality of the rear shocks by KYB.
fairlane 347 just curious on what part numbers you have on the rears? I had the 555603 part number and it felt like I had pogo sticks in the rear.
