Hey CAMs,

I need help. Do you guys know of a good local mechanic. Maybe one that I could even hang out with while the work is being done so I can learn a thing or two? I've got a lot of maintenance to do and I've never done that kind of stuff nor do I have a lift. Frankly, I'm just a afraid I'll mess something up. Changing the transmission fluid is first. I've got some good tips from some guys but I don't know what I'm doing. Sometimes I wish I was a mechanic. I've got 4 cars, 1 garage, no lift, no help, and i work 60 hrs a week. So I need some help.

Any suggestions?

What exactly do you need done? A lot of us turn our own wrenches and don't mind helping others out.

I am in PG. Upper Marlboro.

I'm creeping up on the 50,000 marker, so I'm thinking I need everything done maintenance wise that needs to be done. I bought the car with 35,000 miles. I don't think much has been done to the car. So new serpentine belt, flush all fluids (especially transmission which needs to be done right now), i have that noisy starter issue, maybe new plugs and thermostat which I already have, going to need new brakes soon, squeeks coming from pulleys maybe ac compressor, some kind of ticking on driver's side near wheel while turning right ..... maybe lots more. I would love to hang out with you guys and learn some good stuff. I'm good with computers so maybe we could learn from each other. I'm dealing with p1000 code right now on the car. I've been going by the book to try and clear that. Unsuccessful so far.....

You guys would be the $hiet if you could help me out! Drinks on me?
