Or at least part of one. They started a new project today building up a small Mazda/Ranger pickup. They're putting an engine in out of a wrecked 03 Marauder. I'm curious to see how this one is going to go.

It really bugs me how a lot of these shows start a project, and then start 3 others without finishing the first one. I guess they're trying to emulate real life for most of us!

I want to see the finish of the 79 Ford crew cab that they're transplanting onto a Dodge 3500 dually turbodiesel chassis.

it's bait to hook and reel us in and keep watching the show!!! But still watch it any way even if they are reruns....

They are not toying with you or trying to create real time laps build scenarios. They are waiting for biblical info from Zack.

whats wrong with it? its just a 32v motor. id like to see them fit the thing in there. i had a ranger with a 2.3 and even that was kinda tight yet along a 32v

I know of at least 3 rangers with the 32v 4.6 in them. I think it's awesome.

There's the link to the feature on it.

If a 5.4 can fit in a ranger. I would have tried to find a 5.4 4v from a Navi.

The amount of work in the 5.4 ranger is rediculous...apparently it had a ton of issue and was pretty slow.

i'll post links to a couple 4.6 rangers later.

I missed Trucks today. Was the Marauder/Mach 1 engine featured again in the Mazda truck? Or was today another repeat?

The second part was on "Trucks" Saturday (04/24) then repeated also Sunday. It was very good and basically it showed the 4.6 being placed into the frame rails. When they continue with this project their supposedly talking about the wiring of the engine. According to the TV listings next week is a rerun of the project lighting series. Hopefully they won't drag it out for months and get us distracted with other projects and not continue this one for a couple of months.

For those who might be interested, part 3 of engine swap "Project Thunder" will be on Saturday and Sunday on Spike TV this weekend. I'll be interested in how they will do the Marauder engine wiring into the Ranger(Mazda).:)

I'm curious where they got the engine from and if it belonged to a member here? I watch the powerblock pretty religously and have definitely been digging this new build on trucks. Every time I see a shot of the engine and look at that alternator I can't help but get this odd feeling maybe my old engine. The alternator was only a 1way clutch versus two or vice versa(previous owner had it replaced). Hard to explain, but I'd love to find out out where it came from.

Hell, if it was my old engine, I'd want them to know it only had about 15k miles on it when it was totalled, body had somewhere between 65-75k on it.
