Found this article in the Sept issue of MM&FF on a place called Second Street Speed In Perkasie, Pa. They have developed new rocker arms and lifters that give an increase of 45 Hp. Very interesting although it pretty expensive. ($3500.00)

you can't overlook the fact that in the begining of this article this alleged expert is quoted as saying that the stock springs and lifters often fail at 8,000 to 9,000 RPM's on these motors. So none of that even applies to any of us here. Who revs their Marauder,Crown Vic, or street Mustang up to 8,000 RPM's?
Secondly, we must take note of the fact that this HP increase took place on a motor that had the stock camshaft replaced w/a higher lift camshaft. I realize that the before & after dyno readings were infact BOTH taken AFTER the camshaft change had been performed, but the HP increase obtained by adding these rocker arms to the mix would probably not occur w/a stock camshaft. Furthermore, aside from the insane cost of $3500 for merely a 45 HP increase, let me also point out that these rocker arms were used w/solid lifters. And solid lifters not only supply better reving capabilities than the stock hydraulic lifters do, but they will also require frequent valve adjustments in pushrod engines, therefore I'm sure that using solid lifters in an overhead cam motor would also create a need for routine valve adjustments. And that is NOT something you would want to do on a daily driver. Especially on a newer car.

For that price I would throw another 2,000 and get a supercharger. :coolman:

We'll see more and more of this as the parts market for this motor matures. Hopefully soon we will get to see the ultimate Marauder when someone finally "takes it to the next level" and goes all out with an engine rebuild from the bottom up versus just mild to advanced bolt-ons (and yes, I consider a SC an advanced bolt-on)!

BTW - it sounds like Pande's Performance might just be the first ones on the block to go all the way with our car (to the next level I mean :))!

Can't wait to see it! BTW - what you did with your car was a world beyond a simple bolt-on! Me, I'm getting the Trilogy kit delivered to my front door in a box :), what you did on the other hand was a cut above!

The Kook's set up gives almost as much HP and torque for about $1,500.00 less.
