im looking into buying a set of under drive pulleys for my marauder. but the merc has the clutch on the alternator. so im guessing i wont be using the alt pulley? and since ill only be using the 2 pulleys will i still be using the stock belt?.also i was told i should have the idle raised about 200 rpms when i do the tune... and what type of hp gains will i be seeing?

Pulleys are a good start they definitely do make power. Leave your alternator pulley alone and you can use the stock belt. For voltage issues, the idle should be bumped up.

About 10 hp gain.

They are worth a gain in HP for the money. Go with a Gatorback belt and get a tune ASAP to compensate for the voltage drop. Make sure the pullies have the longer bolt with them for the install.

Contact Steeda, they will send you out a new one right away. Do not attempt to do the install without it unless you have a pulley installation kit.

And let's not forget the stock bolt is TTY.

Torque To Yeild. Which kinda means it a one time use bolt.

Torque to yeild. There is a 3 step torque process that makes the bolt stretch a little when installed. It also makes the bolt a one time use only bolt.
Make sure you replace the crank bolt as well.

ah, ok, great explaination it makes sense, but doesn't seem practical at the same time, lol

what would be a good bump up in idle to compensate for the pullies ?

I left mine (idle) alone and never had a problem.
